If any of you are feeling oppressed or depressed it may be a spiritual problem. I know this isn't a popular belief but I think that most of these feelings are caused by demons. Please visit (blogtalkradio.com/omegamanradio) and tune in at 8pm Est and you can gain lot of knowledge about this subject matter and you can also receive help. There is also an archive of episodes on the site as well. God bless you all

Not necessarily, although that could be true in some cases, for evil spiritual forces are very real (Ephesians 6:12-18). In most cases, however, it could simply be a poor diet and a lack of exercise that is making people feel awful.

I'm a little concerned about all this casting out of demons stuff guys.

I've pulled this passage from the amplified translation because it best describes what I'm aiming at here.

8 Nevertheless in like manner, these dreamers also corrupt the body, scorn and reject authority and government, and revile and libel and scoff at [heavenly] glories (the glorious ones).
9 But when [even] the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, judicially argued (disputed) about the body of Moses, he dared not [presume to] bring an abusive condemnation against him, but [simply] said, The Lord rebuke you!
Jude 1

I'll hesitate to say any more, but you guys who are involved in these charismatic practices, please pray over this passage i've posted over. I don't want to start a war, I'm not posting to argue doctrine. I'm simply urging caution. Please take into consideration this section of the forum is for children in Christ. Thanks.

"Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee" (Jude 1:8-9).

Casting out a demon (for example, Acts 16:18) does not require any speaking evil of it, or any railing accusation against it (Jude 1:8-9).

That's what Jesus told us to do with demons, too.

I understand your concern, because we see people who get caught up in the event aspect of it -- turning it more into a game that must be played correctly.

Jesus clearly instructed His disciples to use the authority to set people free. He said to pray and fast for the tougher challenges. It appears that fear, pride (or entertainment value) can prolong the battle and make it appear a crazed charismatic practice. It was an integral part of His ministry, and part of the structure He presented to all believers.

It might not be accepted in certain denominations or churches, or is confined to an ordained minister's responsibility; but Jesus never taught against anyone setting someone free from spiritual oppression.

Do we want people free -- that is all that it's about.

We're in a spiritual battle..I don't know what particular doctrines the OP may be endorsing, but what I do know is that we're all on Satans hit list and he prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he *may* devour. This is why we must put on the full armor of God, taking up the shield of faith so that we can deflect all of the attacks of the enemy. He is always working to mold us back into the old man, and therefore we must be vigilant against his evil schemes. This battle takes place predominantly in the mind and he works to manipulate our thoughts so that we think like him instead of having the mind of Christ. This is why we must take every thought captive to obey Christ.
