Some of us will still be single and remain so. It is not entirely voluntary. The chance for being in a good relationship with one who is right is over, if it was there, and then it is late in one's life. For reasons not just because of character some of us are not appealing for anyone that we ever meet in person, which we cannot do something to solve. It does not mean we will not do things for what is better, for what we do for God, for others, or for ourselves, and there is meaning in our life that we still live by.

“Does not the Potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay pots for common use & some for more noble purposes?”
Romans 9

Thank you. I see purpose in life that there would be from God, I can trust God in the things I do not know with no reasonable way to know.

One of the things you learn is the things you learn in church or whatever you're learning about him on your own time isn't just to pass the time or b/c it's interesting - it has real life application. It's like he's getting you ready for stuff.

I am struggling again. The desire to be married will never go away completely this life
I am really struggling. I don't really have anything else to say. It is rigged against me I can't get married. I thought I was growing out of wanting one some - nope.

You clearly have an unhealthy attachment to the prospect of marriage. Marriage isn’t going to fix anything or everything.

We can’t rely on someone else to complete us.

I think it was you posting in a thread recently about doubts and things of that nature too. To that end I’d say until you have that under control, as well as this unhealthy attachment dealt with and you spend a good amount of time free from those things, only consider marriage then.

Sorry to sound harsh, but I don’t know who else you have around you to offer perspective on these things.

We talk about what the NT says about being single & married a lot.

A lot of people think in the OT God wants people married. I wonder how accurate that truly is, what the OT says about being single.

We shoudln't expect it to contradict the NT

Probably the prophets weren't married? I don't know

That's okay. It's good to hear other perspectives. I've struggled w/ this for a long time. Sometimes are better than other times.

I was always surprised how few resources there are for Christians who want to get married but struggle.

It seems most resources are by people who got married relatively young.

I guess a lot of people just give up after?

This large scale of singleness is a big thing for our generation. Most older people wouldn't know how to help us.

I think a lot of non-believer 'single' people actually aren't........

But yeah, I don't know either way if it changed for real Christians. That question keeps me up. Did it change.

I dont' get married :disappointed:

Brother, I’m trying to be charitable, but you seriously need to stop thinking about this completely.

You have an unhealthy attachment to it and don’t seem ready for marriage at all.

Focus on life. Focus on improving yourself. Focus on your faith.

If it happens it happens. It may not, and you need to be OK with that.

It’s time to stop obsessing.

Very hard.

It's never enough. It's like I can never be ready. I go thru life & then it just hits I'm no closer.
Focus on life. Focus on improving yourself. Focus on your faith.
I like focusing on the Lord.

If it happens it happens. It may not, and you need to be OK with that.
I'm not sure. I think it's my struggle I will get from time to time. I think 'being ok w/ it' is giving up
