I was making fun of Donald Trump and Sean Spicer lying all the time. Basically, after day one of his presidency, Trump was claiming "1.5 million people" showed up to his inauguration and called it "the largest inauguration day crowd of all time," when you could see from overhead pictures that Obama's 2009 crowd was like three times as big.
Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the explanation.

What does it say about current events when a government official inflating figures from 1500 to 1500000 seems credible?

After hearing his black history month speech, I'd kinda like to see Trump's ANZAC Day speech. It would probably be 75% about him putting Churchill's bust back in the White House.

(Of course it wouldn't -- that would require Trump to know something about ANZAC Day.)

Another perspective on Trump and Turnbull's conversation, along with comments from readers of this newspaper in Australia that were most interesting:

LABOR: TURNBULL MUST CONFIRM OR DENY

Link to article: No Cookies | Herald Sun

Just as a side note that i could not help noticing: Prime Minster Turnbull was apparently trashing Trump in a video or recording before Trump was elected and when Hillary was assumed to be the winner of the election, and Trump and his staff recently became privy to Turnbull trashing Trump behind closed doors.

Yeah, probably is something as petty as someone speaking bad about him so now it's time to show he's a big strong man by acting like a child instead of a diplomat. When did throwing tantrums because people say bad things about you become strength? It isn't strength when people on the left do it, it isn't strength when people on the right do it. It simply isn't strength.

It happened 2 years before the War started, according to many (most?) Americans.

Um, I think you need to watch it again. The whole point was how D-list they are, and how much they wish they were Australians.
The third most popular folk parady duo? I do. I do not think they wish they were australian. Murray wouldnt manage them anymore and you want that kind of powerhouse on your side

I guess you heard what he said about Frederick Douglass during his speech. SMH. Lol.

Now, now... Be fair. Trump wasn't just talking about the MLK bust. He used that to bring up how much the media hates him. It's only reasonable that he talk about his own current struggles at a meet to honor Black History.

Look at the posters in the back of Murray's office. "It's near Australia!" being their main tourism gimmick. (better than their stinking mud and jumping off a bridge. Seriously, those are their big attractions)

Donald Trump rages at 'dumb deal' with Australia over refugee resettlement – live

Outrageous. Simply outrageous. To all of you saying "just give hime a chance", this is where he blew that chance, IMHO. As if the insult weren't bad enough, lying about it as well?

There is a lot of speculation and gossip about this call. But as with Britain and the USA Australia is such a long established ally I doubt if it will change the overall friendship and alliance.

To be honest I do not have much sympathy with the Australians or the Americans on this one. Both are in effect refusing to accept refugees or at least moaning about it. Both rejections are based on irrational fears of terrorism and being swamped by a brown tide from Muslim countries. Compassion should trump the vastly exaggerated fears about security here and the ugly underlying racism that is probably the real reason for these policies of exclusion.

Australia accepts plenty of refugees. We don't make the silly security "arguments" about refugees.
