The SS has to be loyal to the leader of the Party.

The SS really can't testify.

They're basically glorified bodyguards who happen to have access to levels classified information they wouldn't normally have access to.

It's ridiculous to even ask them to testify. How can a president do all the things they need to do if the guy standing nearby can be compelled to testify about it....ever?

If they can be compelled to testify....what's stopping an inquiry into whether cornpop Joe is in outer space mentally?

Since the Secret Service has already said the event did not happen, I would think a sworn statement could be worked out. It could be done by not revealing anything President Trump did, only what he did NOT do.
The biggest problem is that they work for the Biden administration, and face potential retaliation for going against the narrative of the Democrats.

It's not even that....retaliation?

These guys are around the President during private moments. Imagine if after we dropped the bomb on Hiroshima the SS testified that the president cried for 2 hours before giving the order or laughed uncontrollably for 20 minutes afterwards....

The president can't do his job correctly and worry about the optics of what he's doing 100% of the time.

If a Secret Service agent wants to spill the beans after a president is dead? Fine. Otherwise, there's no way. It's not a reasonable request.

Again, I don't see a problem testifying what a president did NOT do as a result of a false allegation. The big problem is retaliation.

Have they? Because I've seen no official statement from the Secret Service, which should suprise no one, and the agents named have walked back testifying and instead have lawyered up.

Everything suggests Ms. Hutchinson was truthful.

The committee refused to schedule the Secret Service agents, despite all of the demands from the public.
Kinzinger and Cheney have been evasive as to the reasons. President Trump has denied it and not one person has come forward to backup Hutchinson's "bombshell" hearsay testimony--zero evidence to support her claim. The committee has subpoena power, they have used it on multiple witnesses, if the agents are the problem simply subpoena them. The agents put their jobs on the line by speaking out, we don't know how much pressure the Biden administration is putting on these employees to prevent their testimony. Again, the committee has subpoena power, what's the delay?

Everything? What everything? All we have is Hutchinson making an unsubstantiated statement.
There's more than just Hutchinson's testimony.

While the details from those who heard the accounts differ, the Secret Service sources say they were told an angry confrontation did occur. And their accounts align with significant parts of Hutchinson's testimony, which has been attacked as hearsay by Trump and his allies who also have tried to discredit her overall testimony.

Like Hutchinson, one source, a longtime Secret Service employee, told CNN that the agents relaying the story described Trump as "demanding" and that the former President said something similar to: "I'm the President of the United States, you can't tell me what to do." The source said he originally heard that kind of language was used shortly after the incident.

"He had sort of lunged forward -- it was unclear from the conversations I had that he actually made physical contact, but he might have. I don't know," the source said. "Nobody said Trump assaulted him; they said he tried to lunge over the seat -- for what reason, nobody had any idea."

The employee said he'd heard about the incident multiple times as far back as February 2021 from other agents, including some who were part of the presidential protective detail during that time period but none of whom were involved in the incident.

The source added that agents often recounted stories of Trump's fits of anger, including the former President throwing and breaking things.

Accounts of Trump angrily demanding to go to Capitol on January 6 circulated in Secret Service over past year - CNNPolitics

"In our interview with Mr. Cipollone, the Committee received critical testimony on nearly every major topic in its investigation, reinforcing key points regarding Donald Trump's misconduct and providing highly relevant new information that will play a central role in its upcoming hearings," Mulvey said, according to CNN. "This includes information demonstrating Donald Trump's supreme dereliction of duty. The testimony also corroborated key elements of Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony. Allegations of some pre-interview agreement to limit Cipillone's testimony are completely false."

They were invited to testify and give their side of the story.

"The committee has spoken to both Mr. Ornato and Mr. Engel, and we welcome additional testimony under oath from both of them, and from anybody else in the Secret Service who has information about any of these issues."

Cheney's comments are consistent with those other members of the January 6 committee had told CNN and other outlets earlier this week.

Cheney added, "We have been working with the Secret Service, we have interviewed, as I said, a number of individuals in the Secret Service. We will continue to do so. And I think it is important that their testimony be under oath."

Despite the warnings, the president’s offer of troops wasn’t accepted and the Capitol Police did not take a security posture on Jan. 6 commensurate with the threats
I thought it was supposed to be a peaceful protest. Why would they think they needed the National Guard?

It's not an allegation. It's not testimony.

It's political theater.

In an actual court of law....she wouldn't be able to testify about anything she spoke on.

It's all hearsay.

In a court of law its worthless.

Safety.

A lot of peaceful protests in 2020 included violence against police....or didn't you notice?

Yeah....it's hearsay....the kind of testimony that gets objected to and immediately thrown out in a real court.

Let's be real here...the Democratic Party doesn't genuinely believe anyone posed a threat to democracy or the electoral process....none of it.

In fact, they've been donating to the exact same candidates they've been calling a threat.

Why Democrats are paying for ads supporting Republican primary candidates

They're literally trying to tell their voters these people are dangerous to democracy....and then they promote their campaigns.

I feel pity for anyone who is taking this seriously. You're being played for a fool.

Well, if the Jan 6 protest was peaceful, why all the hub-bub?

Looting a shoe store is just the same as attacking the Capitol. Yep. Sure is.

Wow, we really missed out on you not being appointed to the Supreme Court.

This isn’t a trial....these aren't criminal charges....this is just for optics.

If they had enough to charge anyone with a crime...they would have. This is a distraction from a failed presidency.

I feel pity for anyone on the right that justifies the actions of Jan 6
