Medical journals and peer-reviewed studies are "mainstream media" now?
Maybe I stated that wrong, and very poorly. Let me say it differently,

I am pro vaccine and am vaccinated. Some people didn’t like the vaccine because they thought it was rushed. They didn’t want to listen to everyone “you must get the shot” et al

No, I don’t believe vaccines cause autism or sudden death.

Vitamin C and Polio
Research into vitamin C as a potential treatment for polio dates back to the early 20th century. Dr. Claus W. Jungeblut, a respected medical researcher, published papers in 1935 and 1937 indicating that vitamin C might be beneficial in preventing paralysis caused by polio. However, his work was not widely accepted, and subsequent attempts to replicate his findings often failed due to insufficient dosages of vitamin C.

"In the late spring of 1949 the United States
was in the grip of its worst poliomyelitis
epidemic ever. On June 10 a paper on ways
to save the lives of bulbar polio victims was
read at the Annual Session of the American
Medical Association (subsequently printed
in its journal, JAMA, September 3, 1949,
pages 1-8, volume 141, no. 1). Following the
talk members of the audience were invited to
comment. The first speaker, a leading
authority from Pasadena, focused on details
of tracheotomy techniques caused when
paralyzed breathing, swallowing and
coughing muscles of victims threatened their
lives. Why the next person was recognized is
puzzling. The only national recognition he
had received — and it was obviously very
limited — was that his picture appeared in
Ebony in 1947 for having delivered of a
deaf-mute black woman the first known
surviving, identical quadruplets in the
country. Here is the abstract of his remarks
as recorded in JAMA:
"Dr. F. R. Klenner, Reidsville, N.C.: It
might be interesting to learn how poliomyelitis was treated in Reidsville, N.C.,
during the 1948 epidemic. In the past seven
years, virus infections have been treated and
cured in a period of seventy-two hours by
the employment of massive frequent
injections of ascorbic acid, or vitamin C. I
believe that if vitamin C in these massive
doses — 6,000 to 20,000 mg in a twentyfour hour period — is given to these patients
with poliomyelitis none will be paralyzed
and there will be no further maiming or
epidemics of poliomyelitis."
The discussion period was, of course, to
be devoted to hearing relevant comments of
the world's leading authorities on the
treatment of bulbar polio symptoms, not
1. 1250 Grizzly Peak, Berkeley, CA 94708.
to airing another claim of a cure. One can
imagine the silence that must have greeted
this sweeping, out-of-place declaration by a
small-town general practitioner. Four other
speakers, three more bulbar experts and an
anesthesiologist, followed. None referred to
Dr. Klenner's remarks.
The empirical, clinical basis for Klenner's
statement is found in his paper "The
Treatment of Poliomyelitis and Other Virus
Diseases with Vitamin C", published in the
July 1949 issue of the Journal of Southern
Medicine and Surgery. "

"Unlike oral polio vaccination, vitamin C has never caused polio. Yet how many people have you met, physicians included, who know vitamin C has been known to prevent and cure poliomyelitis for nearly 70 years? It was never really a secret. On September 18, 1939, Time magazine reported that "Last week, at the Manhattan meeting of the International Congress for Microbiology, two new clues turned up. (One is) Vitamin C." (9) The article describes how Jungeblut, while studying statistics of the 1938 Australian polio epidemic, deduced that low vitamin C status was associated with the disease."

What is his experience in health? He didn't take COVID-19 seriously. I don't see Trump helping Americans be healthy at all. Are they going to encourage healthy food in school? Are they going encourage healthy lifestyle?

U.S. — Citizens in the most obese, unhealthy country on the face of the planet have expressed concern that new Health Secretary RFK might try to do a few things differently.

With seventy-five percent of the adult population now overweight or obese, government officials expressed deep reservations about doing anything differently whatsoever. Thousands of employees within Health and Human Services have even threatened to quit if the new Secretary tries to get the country to change direction in some way.

"RFK is a nut and his ideas are crazy," said FDA employee Sharon Wilmington, as she slapped a "Heart Healthy" sticker on a box of Froot Loops. "We obviously have this thing under control."

Levity aside...

What is his experience in health? He didn't take COVID-19 seriously. I don't see Trump helping Americans be healthy at all. Are they going to encourage healthy food in school? Are they going encourage healthy lifestyle?

Why is "did they take covid seriously enough?" (a subjective standard) being used as the benchmark? Everyone is going to have a varying level of "seriousness" they see as the "appropriate amount". Up to and including "5 jabs, double masks, and using Clorox wipes on the steering wheel"

A couple of other points:

- Many of the things he's advocating for are either things democrats have asked for in the past, or things that other countries in Europe are already doing with good levels of success. (and that does include healthier food in schools and healthier lifestyle as you inquired about...in addition to tighter restrictions on sweeteners and food additives)

- It's an administrative position which means that one doesn't need to be a doctor themselves in order to get the job.

For example, many people who have the equivalent role at the state level don't have an MD, nor do several Hospital Administrators for major Hospital systems. For instance, University Hospitals here in NE Ohio is one of the top ranked hospital systems in the world. Their Chief Administrative Officer is a guy with a Law Degree and a minor in communications whose previous job was a Sr. VP of human resources for DHL.
