What is the point of restricting flights from Europe and then crowding 1000's of passengers at the airports for hours, waiting to be processed?
If there ever was a situation designed to promote the spread of COVIR-19, the airport authorities, in their infinite wisdom, created the perfect venue!

Kind of like going 'zero tolerance' on children at the border, without adequately preparing for the need to shelter them, provide medical care, or even keep track of who their parents are. Poorly thought out plans lead to poor execution.

Oh, well that's OK then. the US will be fine because some other country did something stupid.
This isn't a 0-sum game mate, you don't get to auto win because someone else loses. It's quite easy in this scenario for everyone to lose.

It's kind of interesting here how opinions on the ban are all over the place. People point to bans not working, then say we should have banned travel earlier. Others claim bans are xenophobic.
It all comes from a state of panic. The government is doing what it can and is trying to do what's best. It will make mistakes because that's what governments do. But we'll get it worked out in the end.
Put your faith in God and fear not. I'm 60 and in the danger zone. But you know what, I'm not afraid. If I get it, so be it. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord."
This isn't the end of the world.

Obviously Travel bans are required, alongside testing, something the US is well behind in. Like Italy, you banned travel early then rested on your laurels.

I was only pointing out how much worse Trudeau responded to the crisis than Trump. I suspect his incompetent leadership in this regard is based upon his proclivity to place more emphasis upon being seen as tolerant and inclusive . Placing those concerns above concerns for the well being of Canadian citizens. I don't believe any reasonable person could conclude that by pointing out Trudeau's incompetence I somehow could possibly be under the impression that Trudeau's incompetence, due IMO to the primary importance he seems to place on virtue signaling, would make the US more safe. On the contrary, it makes the US more vulnerable having such a poor decision maker on our border.
