Nice soundbyte -- now it's time to think. To wit: What, specifically, is he fighting for?

You say he is going to follow what the people want, so... what exactly do they -- do you -- want done to the NFL?

Where exactly is the pound of flesh that the NFL is going to have to pay in the name of your values?

It seems some may have a hard time recognizing that this is not about any one institution or individual, or race. The identity politics aren't working here. The NFL is part of a system, an establishment, whether you choose to recognize that, is not my fault. This system chews on and spits out its own people, its own supporters, and literally uses them for political gain.

Let's look at the tearing down of the monuments for example. Not one black or minority was aided at all by that happening. What did it accomplish? What is its purpose? Not one black life was saved or changed for the good because of this event regardless of so much effort and cooperation.

Now... also what kind of division and chaos did it spur? What was the division used for? And where was it aimed at? These acts did zero to end division, and here we still are. In the same situation.

We are told that they represent racism, and need to be removed. But what impact on racism did their removal actually have? None. So it seems to reason that those orchestrating these actions do not care about the people they use to commit them. Nor do they really care about the black community they enrage.

And again, we are told that the nation was built on racism, the national anthem is racist, and blacks need to stand united against racial inequality, but what is it doing? Has one black person been saved from a cops gun by NFL players kneeling for the Anthem? Nope. This is creating division with those who do not view America as racist. This further perpetuates the narrative of black vs white even if the individuals on both sides aren't even racist. Because even tho skin color is no longer an issue for either group, there is still a catalyst for division between patriots, and those who feel misrepresented, or unrepresented.

Ok, so you say this brings awareness to racial inequality. We do not need awareness... We are aware that cops needlessly kill individuals. Kneeling on a sideline does absolutely nothing to stop cops FROM needlessly killing individuals.

Stop making awareness for an issue, that is already recognized as an issue.

We already know.

What actions can be taken to stop this epidemic?

Where is Antifa? How many Trump rallies have there been and we have heard zero from them recently. Are there any more monuments coming down? And this whole take a knee thing will take a while but it can be dealt with also.

The phone calls, petitions, letters, emails, and videos sent to congressmen, senators, governors, mayors, police chiefs, and even tweets to the President work. And that is what people like myself are doing all the while being called an idiot and a racist. Because the establishment does not want unity.

However, before dealing with every issue head-on, sometimes you have to find that first link that is loose. The NFL presented that loose link in this failed attempt. If we can get them to take a side step or back down... it is over. After that, we could have the momentum to take on larger establishments like Hollywood, the music industry, and even the media. Draining the swamp is not just about politicians. It is also about the pay to play lobbyists, propaganda peddlers, and money makers of the establishment. Take out a politician, another steps right in. Take out the money, game over.

Sounds like the NFL doesn't matter -- it's just the random target of a lot of anger.

Somehow you've got the idea in your heard that the NFL is part of a bigger problem, part of the "establishment," you've been told to hate even as you obey it, and loyalist that you are, you rally against it... all you needed was the proper prompting.

Let's look at the tearing down of the monuments for example. Not one black or minority was aided at all by that happening. What did it accomplish? What is its purpose? Not one black life was saved or changed for the good because of this event regardless of so much effort and cooperation.

Seems you're trying to make Donald's tirade against the NFL into something bigger and more noble -- and for good reason.

Because if you're right, and that the Confederate statues harm nobody, and thus the brouhaha over them is being manufactured by people who don't actually care... then the brouhaha over kneeling over the National Anthem is the exact same thing -- outrage over something harmless, the removal of which will harm nobody, by people who don't actually care about you...namely, our government, chiefly the president.

And again, we are told that the nation was built on racism, the national anthem is racist, and blacks need to stand united against racial inequality, but what is it doing? The Establishment want you screaming at athletes kneeling before the anthem, all the while calling them traitors and unamerican. You're absolutely right about one thing -- "the establishment" does not want unity. The NFL is your enemy. The MSM is your enemy. The Liberals are your enemy. The immigrants are your enemy.... etc., etc....

Now be a good boy... and go fight.

However, before dealing with every issue head-on, sometimes you have to find that first link that is loose. The NFL presented that loose link in this failed attempt. A lot of verbiage here for the simple question, "What do you want done regarding the NFL?" The President targeted the NFL, you fell in step behind him. You seem to think the endgame here is something big and noble.

You really think supporting the president as he takes on the NFL is going to "drain the swamp"?

What. Do. You. Want?

How many black lives are saved by the NFL protest of the national anthem? Do you think some racist cop that is going to blow away a black man is just going to have a moment of clarity: 'Oh wait' I can't-do this because I saw guys kneel on a sideline.' What is this protest about?

Not one person in any black community at all, is safer from police violence because of this protest.

However, this has so fanned the flames that people from around America, including blacks, are calling NFL out for it.

Right -- People from around America, including blacks, are now against the NFL and their supporters. As you said, the establishment doesn't want unity.

What. Do. You. Want?

Firstly, when you say "protest of the national anthem", you're factually wrong. They are protesting social injustice during the national anthem. No one is protesting the national anthem.

How many people are hurt by the NFL protest during the national anthem?

Based upon the standard right-wing reaction to being told there's a problem NO YOU DON'T KNOW.

Nit pick. Split hairs. Anymore I can't think of? If you protest during the Anthem, you're protesting the Anthem and all it stands for. Period.
The bus boycotts in the Civil Rights movement really hated public transit?

Sometimes the stress of being so obviously wrong on such an important, fundamental value of what the US is supposed to be all about, can cause a person to post stupid things.

It's so very obvious that the argument against the protesters (i.e. making the claim that they are protesting the national anthem) is based on a falsehood, but it won't stop people from repeating the claim ad nauseum.
