Let's be clear: the fact that one can dredge up examples of anti-Trump sentiment that cross the line does not in any undermine the assertion that Mr. Trump is a dangerously unqualified person whose Presidency may well cause significant lasting damage to the USA and the world.

I am well aware of the "quality" of much of the discourse on this board. Can we at least try to elevate things a little? There is every reason to believe that the posts here are intended to entirely misrepresent the legitimate concerns that many reasonable people have about Mr. Trump.

How about a congresswoman describing Trumps cabinet as 'SCUMBAGS' ?

Can you even imagine a republican saying that about Obama's administration? The liberal news would go ballistic. A democrat does it and you hear crickets chirping.

To say that Apatow is representative of liberal people of conscience is as false as saying that Trump is representative of the other 44 presidents--Democrat, Republican, Whig--who were knowledgeable about their country, willing to learn more so as to make educated decisions, free of business entanglements that could cloud their judgment, free of questionable ties to hostile governments--need I go on?

How awful that there are people who resort to such. Unfortunately, it isn't new. I recall a married Catholic on this very forum ranting about Ms Obama being ugly and shaped like a "truck". Thankfully, we all have a chance to use metered language and set a good example. I don't expect much of "Hollywood elitists" I've never heard of, but at least those of us who claim service to Christ can endeavor to show the fruit of hearts who love the Lord.

We saw this behavior with Obama fans who wished to excuse his evils too, nothing new under the sun. If you take out the names and the specific issues, it's hard to tell whether you're reading the work of hyperpartisan liberals or conservatives.

I don't believe your assertion that most of your political rivals exhibit this shameful behavior but most of your political allies do not can be supported. I have seen liberals make the exact same claim and called them on it. I think most people and especially most Christians, regardless of political stripe, are above this sort of behavior and would never criticize a politician's children or spouse's looks.
