Some American intelligence officials have pushed for years to expel employees of Chinese media organizations who they say mainly file intelligence reports, the report said.

The officials now see an opening to make a strong case after Beijing abruptly announced this month that it would expel almost all American citizens who report from mainland China for The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal.

It’s always very risky to use the words “he knows” when referring to Trump.

If “he knows” so much about this nefarious plot of the Chinese, please explain why he shipped 18 tons of PPE to them, leaving your own people now short of equipment...?

Very interesting criticism. Even assuming that Trump had anything to do with the decision to send 18 tons of PPE to China, why would anyone think that was a bad decision? At the time it may well have been the very best decision one could have made. Had the administration disregarded humanitarian considerations then you and others would likely have soundly criticized him for not caring about the Chinese. But even disregarding humanitarian considerations, minimizing the outbreak at its source seems like the very best course of action, not just for the USA but also for China and the rest of the world as well. You might recall that the US repeatedly offered assistance to quell the outbreak.

Being pro-active is nearly always better than simply reacting.
