True or False?

"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination." - God.

  • True.

  • False. I believe God is a liar, because I am not a Christian.

God's Word is true because it stands up to scrutiny.

Who's scrutiny?

The countless promises of God are all honoured by Him when we follow after Him and His principles in obedience.

What promises of God have been honored in your life? As for principles in obedience ...are you obedient to the 4th-commandment? Yes or no will do.

The written word is alive with power and is able to change lives and situations when believed and followed. It reveals the heart of God--His love for us and His faithfulness to us. It reveals His message of salvation in Jesus Christ our Messiah so you don't have to undergo judgment.

But, that isn't proof that the Bible is the word of God. It really does sound like little more than fancy rhetoric.

There is nothing like it anywhere in the world! Nothing has ever stood the test of time and remained unchanged. God has guarded His very word so that there is no alteration, but only His very message to your heart remains intact forever.

Again, rhetoric. You're obviously very emotional about the Bible and that's nice as long as you don't use the Bible as a weapon to hurt other people. By the way, the Bible (word of God?) has been altered many times. It's doubtful that the Bible you hold remotely resembles the original manuscripts. Even modern translations of the Bible differ from one another.

All it takes is a tiny amount of faith and one can believe wholeheartedly in the bible as God's inerrant word.

But it WAS written by man and not God ...right? So how do we know that it's the word of God? The truth is that no one can PROVE the Bible to be the word of God. It takes faith and that can often mean suspending one's own innate - God-given? - reasoning abilities at times.

Stevie Wonder could have seen those responses coming.

Floatingaxe, would you disagree that there were substantial revisions made to the original text during the time King James hired his scribes to write the KJV of the Bible? For starters, what happened to Apocrypha? Why do the Catholics use the Douay-Rheims Bible, which contains 73 books in it as opposed to the modern-day 66 books?

Would the discarded books be considered pointless or unnecessary? If not, why would God permit His Word to be tampered with?
