Trudeau orders immediate ban on handgun sales in Canada

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau ordered an immediate freeze on new sales of handguns on Friday.

The ban on sale, purchase and transfer of handguns is effective immediately and is the latest legal action from Canada on gun violence.

I was watching people yesterday, and it brought a thought to mind. Many of the people i was watching, i was directing traffic at school for grandparents day.

Anyway i noticed how bad of shape many men in their 50's plus were and was thinking. If guns were taken away from Americans, there would be absolutely no way these men could defend themselves by a physical means. If faced with some type conflict, their only hope would be to be able to defend their lives with a gun.

If you abolish legal procurement of firearms, then only bad people will have guns (acquired them via illegal means).

Since most (all?) handgun violence in Canada is by use of an illegal gun smuggled in from the States, there will be no decrease in gun violence at all making this a step in his gun restriction and confiscation program, nothing to do with violence.
