Hmm...... that seems interesting, I might give it a try once a stable version is released. I'm a cookie control freak (can't have sites setting cookies unless I say so XD) so this is probably not for me yet. As soon as it has that feature, I may give it a spin. Until now, though, I'll leave that to those people who can test that.

Minefield, to be specific, is the Firefox nightly testing branch.

At least according to some of the comments left on the one blog entry linked to, the speed increase is largely attributed to the faster Javascript engine - something that's available in the beta versions of Firefox 3.1 (off by default; it has to be enabled through about:config).

I'm using Minefield (Firefox 3.1b2pre) on my MacBook, and it is wonderful. They added some features to make use of the multitouch trackpad in the new MacBooks, so I can swipe left or right with three fingers to navigate back or forward a page.

I can't wait for the final release of Firefox 3.1 :)
