• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, what passage was it in the Bible that you feel failed?

Who said anything about specific passages? You said you were sure that the word of God had never failed. I said it did.

Where has God EVER failed you. What has God EVER said He would do that He did not do? If you want to accuse God of letting you down then you need to be more specific.

This girl.

And this boy.

Now, no doubt, you'll explain how what happened was all part of God's plan. Funny, no matter what happens, you say the exact same thing...

You only say that because you are incapable of understanding.

You need to learn about science. Then maybe you'd start actually responding to my evidences instead of your tired old rhetoric of "Fraid not!"
I understand fine, you fail to post anything. Just look at your post here..!

Why should I waste my time trying to explain it to you when you've demonstrated time and again that you have no desire to actually LEARN?

No. God saved her. She is immortal.

So if you got a life threatening illness, you;d just let it take it's course? Or would you go to see a doctor?

Your trying to present an argument that because parents refused medical treatment for whatever reason. Then there must not be a God? Their actions does not establish if there is or if there is not a God. If you want to know God, then you HAVE to get your eyes off of people and seek to know God. When you go before the Judgement throne of God, HE will not accept this as an excuse. IT simply will not hold up before Him. Of course if your happy and content and feel no need for God, then so be it. But then why are you here trying to argue against something you do not yet understand?

They asked the mouse why the elephant weighed more, and it replied, 'but I didn't eat much today'....

Too late. You failure is already a done deal. No same state past can be shown to have existed in any way.

Looking at the different state in the Tribulation as I have done in this thread we can also say that the future is not present state. You are surrounded.

So if you got a life threatening illness, you;d just let it take it's course? Or would you go to see a doctor?
Either way, we die anyhow. Personally I would probably see a doc. But He won't heal us all the time we will die unless He returns first. Get used to it.

I say get all the help you can get, where ever you can find help. If people can help you wonderful, if doctors can help you wonderful. If you can go to God and get help then wonderful. You refuse God's help but accept man's help. How does that make you any different or any better then them? I see a lot more people die that deny God, then I see people die that seek after God for help. Even the studies show that religious people have better health and live longer. Are you for or against better health and living longer? If we can show you a proven way to longer better life would you be interested?

As a general rule adults can refuse medical treatment if they want. But it is usually against the law to refuse treatment for your children. This would be considered neglect and the state would go in and take the children away from the parent if they had to in order to get the medical treatment. They would most likely bring charges against the parents. So all your doing is using an example of something that does not stand up in court as being a valid religious belief.

When did I say, "The girl died, therefore no God"?

You asked for an example of where God failed. He failed to save that girl's life. How many people have died because people put their faith in God when a simple medical treatment could have saved them? If the problem is so easily fixed and yet God does nothing, then yes, I call that a failure.

But like I said, I knew you'd try to justify it.

So you aren't willing to put your faith solely in God. Interesting...

If it's his plan that you die from your illness, you'll die no matter what. And if it's his plan you live through it, then you'll live even if you don't see a doctor.

So why go to the doctor?

Ultimately believers trust God for eternal life. As far as what we prefer here, or have faith for, or choose good or not so good, that is not the measure of 'putting faith in God'. Sometimes we can't judge the little things. Maybe someone is too proud to admit that maybe God's will might be to have a person come home to heaven, rather than healed for the 20th time up on a stage or something. God can and does heal. But sometimes the answer to our prayer is...no.

God did not fail. He provided a simple medical treatment. The parents failed to take advantage of the treatment God provided for them.

God gives you a choice and it is you that fail God. I understand that people struggle with these issues. Perhaps all of their life. In the end we will all understand that is it not God that fails us, it is us that fails God.

Oh, we would like to be spoiled. We would like for God to do everything for us. But that is not the way it is. He expects us to do our part. This is called covenant theology. IF we do our part then we can be sure that God will do His part of the covenant.

God did not fail the little girl. She is much better off with Him. God did not fail the parents. They failed God. You can blame God if you want but sooner or later you got to grow up and accept responsibility.

I knew a girl who had parents that died in an auto accident when she was 12 years old. She blamed God and was mad at God for taking her parents away from her. Even when her brother got married she would not go to church because she was mad at God. Then I explained to her John 10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." She is now happy and content and a part of a community church that has become very important to her. She has learned how to be comforted by God. I can not remember her age at the time. But I am pretty sure it was her late 20's or early 30's. I am glad that she did find peace with God.

The Bible says we can add years onto our life. There are people who live past 100.

God's greatest letdown has always been his fan club.

Read John 14:12 and ask yourself if you fit the bill.

Let me save you the time: not even close.
