So, what about someone who is transexual? Would God change their brain or their body?

I know about the short tempered thing from personal experience.

I think that through prayer, God can change any feelings we may be having. If you are a male and feel that you should be a female, pray and let Him change you on the inside. God does not make mistakes. I am not sure how all of the hormones work out, but I do know God intended for you to be a male. Pray and let God lead you in this matter.

You are absolutely right nc. And I will go one further. This person doesn't need a bunch of worldly council and psycodrabble about how their feelings are all that matters. What is needed is a turning towards God and away from the world and selfishness. But that's not a popular thing to say.

This person is as in need of healing as anyone born with a birth defect, but that too is in God's hands and rejecting his sovreignity in the matter is not something a Christian should do. Rejecting God is a sin, that I know without a doubt. I know of no operation for birth defects that involve anything but an attempt by medical science to Restore a person to a more normal life. Great! God is completely in charge of that too. But the operation in question here does not restore but destroy.

What I would suggest, and i tried to suggest before, is that Christian here pray that this person is restored to a right relationship with God. In the end, that is all that matters.

With the birth defect thing this is a birth defect just like any other sure you can pray and it will be fixed for some ppl its Gods will who is healed and who is not he has a purpose for every thing .

I have prayed for 10 year whole heartedly and nothing has happened and I feel transition is the path god has set for me.
And I will follow that path where ever it leads me.

Trying to appear as normal when something is wrong is still lying. Depending on your point of view, I would always be lying.

Then why even mention it? You could pray for another hundred years and God is not going to tell you to go do this. You know that, I know that, and I'm sure anyone who actually reads their bible knows it. But that's not what you want to hear. This is all about you and that's all you want to listen too. I took a great deal of time to write and post a message that would help you to seek God in your troubles, but by your own admission, you are not going to do anything that is contrary to your own desires. If you truely want healing ask for it. Turn your heart toward God and He will turn toward you. There is hope.

I don't know if it is wrong or not. I can see reasons that one might see it as wrong, but I'm of the liberal persuassion and I don't believe that homosexuality is a sin (I don't believe it is condemned Biblically. I'm not going to give my explaination in this topic, read other topics I've posted in or ask me in PM) so maybe this is ok? I'm not sure.

You speak as if you know everything you know nothing you are ignorent you claim to Follow God but you throw around such claims.
You know nothing only God knows a person and God works differently for eveyone and You have no right to tell me what God is going to say!

I can think of nothing worse than telling God how it is and that is excatctly what you Are Doing!
To think its ppl like you who are supposed to lead the world to God ti makes me sick.

Sarah H, if you want to waste thousands of dollars on this stupid operation, when you can use this money to help people who need help, you can go ahead and do it, I cannot stop you.

But remember this, what you're doing is a sin, and as long as you remain pretending what you want to be you're commiting a sin against God who created you, you're commiting a sin against your Father.

If you reject him and dont be what he wants you to be then you're doomed to forever remain in the abyss if you die before repenting for your to be made mistake.

Listen This comes from personal experience. Just cause you pray for something to happen doesn't mean it will happen right away. It doesn't matter if you pray about it for 10 minutes for 10 years, it doesn't matter it won't happen on your time when you want it to, it will happen oin God's time when He wants it to. He knows best. The wait is just a test of faith. To see if we have the faith and patience to understand that the Lord knows best and we need to trust in him. And besides the way it looks to me, you want to have this surgery so you can justify a sin. I know what it's like. I have and still do have homosexual feelings and thoughts and I have thought about goin gay but that's just so I won't have to deal with the truth. The truth is that it's wrong and a sin and I need to ovecome this. Granted it would be a lot easier to just give in but that would be wrong. Just cause it's easy doesn't make it right. You need to place your faith in God and have faith that he will deliver you when He knows it's the right time. It's the only way to go trust me. ANd last I'm not trying to be mean or rude but I know how hard a battle like this can be and you have to address it head on and not aviod it.

I have a comment based on what I've read here, which is the whole thread. This thread in paticular was brought to my attention because of the ruthlessness some of you are displaying..

ABSOLUTELY NOT! The only judge the OP needs to worry about is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.
I can't say transexuals are right or not, I do not believe in homosexual activity so if this counts that I guess I dont agree, but there is something called forgivness and repentance that we all know about. I honestly do not believe that one will go to hell forever, to burn forever just because of a operation. No, God did not make a mistake, how or why would He make a mistake?...But my friend... This could be your trial at hand**
A question to the OP.. how long have you been feeling this way, or living this way? Obviously everyone knows what temptation is, and IMO you might just be getting tempted by the devil to see how far you can or will go..
1 Corinthians 10-13
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
That scripture came to mind, because in reality what I think is going on, is your being tempted..

You owe me no apology, but thank you anyway. If I was hard on you I greatly apologize too. i just wanted to cut through to the heart of the matter, not to cut your heart, you are correct in that. I am not God. Trust me, everybody should take comfort in that. I'd be running around smokin people right and left....LOL
But God, the real God, He is God and He is not called the Great Physician for nothing. He can heal you, there is no doubt what-so-ever about that. But if He choses not to, there must be a reason for it in His own plan for you and rebelling against it can only make matters worse. The apostle Paul had a similar dilema and the Lord's response to him was that "My grace is sufficeint for you". Paul did great and wonderful things for the Kingdom of God here on earth in in spite of his "thorn in the flesh". Don't get me wrong. I'm not telling you that God won't heal you of these problems that vex you, but I'm saying if it is His will for you it could be that it is because He knows what is ultimately best for you, not just this moment, but for the rest of your life.
Now, you are obviously in a great deal of pain because of this. I'm a firm believer that prayer actually does change things and I know that if you would but ask, there are a whole bunch of Christian brothers and sisters on the site that would join together in laboring in prayer for you.
I cannot approve of what you are proposing to do, because the bible tells me not to. But I should have been more loving toward you in my disapproval. I apologize for that.

It is my opinion that the Bible has told us that we should not judge lest we be judged ourself. I am completely heterosexual. However, I tend to think of myself as an openminded person. Honestly, I feel like the Bible was written for the ancient Hebrews, not modern 21st Century men and women! I mean yes, it does have meaning for us. But you have to take it into context. Such things were so culturally unacceptable back then in that culture that if someone had done it, they probably would have been stoned to death. I think we just all need to realize that some parts of the Bible were written specificially to the ancient Hebrews and not all parts of the Bible apply to modern 21st Century men and women.

Why is transexualism a sin?

Read Genisis where it says "God made them male and female".
In a sense having a sex change is like playing God.

However if you have these urges you should not hate yourself or anything like that. You obviously have issues with your gender identity and should go to God (who loves all people) with it.

One question I did once think about is what happens in the case of someone whos had the operation (and is biologically female) who then becomes a Christian. They cant become male again. So do they ask for God to see them as a female. And in the case of going to church do they ask to be accepted as a woman. Will they be going to the ladies Bible studies class?

Its all a complex issue.

But I pray that God will guide you through the difficulties you are facing and will face.

Yes He knew exactly what he was doing. He may not have made it happen but He allowed it to happen for a reason. Take 9/11 for example. You could say He made it happen, but I know that our Savior would mean to kill thousands of people. He did however allow it to happen cause look what's come out of it. It reunited the USA. We WON'T understand everything he does. Garrenteed. He knows EVERYTHING and we know nothing in comparison. So we won't understand everything He does, but that's were faith comes into play. Do you have the faith to say" God I don't know why you did this or let this happen but I know that you know best and I will trust that you will get me through this when the time is right.

Bottom Line. We will never understand 95% of what the Lord does, but He will get us through any trial. We just need faith and patients.
