Towards an Official List of all SR members

I am a member of Presbyterian Church of American (PCA) which holds Westminster Standards.

If anyone objects, I will understand because of my "speaking up" of my beliefs.

Naw... I just speak up. My wife says I am too blunt at times. Why? Growing up deaf in a society (kids) that picks on kids with disabilities made me bold. I tend to speak up.

Excellent.....spirited discussion is good for all of us, and here at SR the regular posters are mature enough to keep the discourse civil.

Does this mean SR hasn't been abandoned to the papists? I read some chatter on the the Protestants in Arms mailing list that non-Christians could now post in the Christian-only forums. Is that true?

SR abandoned? Not yet and not ever, I hope. Actually, Jon, it's not the paptists we're super concerned with right now--it's the pagans on this pagan website. Welcome to the membership of our mighty fortress.

I will like to say that I am concerned how this forums worry for Erwins changes seems to push many into legalism. Especially when I was told I shouldn't go to seminary because I hold an old earth position.

That's not legalism--that's orthodoxy. The creeds of the historic Reformed and Presbyterian church hold to a Young Earth Creation. I imagine that is why you were dissuaded from seminary (I cannot say for sure, as I am not privy to the details).

Also, other deities are not a joke to the Lord--they are an offense. While it might be amusing to our fallen nature to see widespread idolatry around us whilst we know the trust, rest assured that God finds no humor in it. Thus, neither should we.

I hate to bump this back up to the top of the thread pile, but I believe we have an issue that needs addressing.

I have been in the Soterology room debating with a member who is carrying a Calvinist icon, and yet makes this statement:

I am not a Calvinist

Is this allowed? Do we want this member allowed here?

Just asking?

If this is no problem, (rule violation) are we going to allow this member to be part of the SR room?

I'm not sure we can do anything about anyone denying Calvinism but carrying a Calvinist icon 'out there'. I would think that to have full posting 'in here', the person would have to support one of the approved confessions or articles of faith...regardless of what their icon reads.

Sorry but the historic Reformed and Prebyterian positions are not infalliable and I am apalled by your statment further showing my point. Your legalism will not push me from the Lords will for my life to further spread his kingdom.

Next thing I know you will claim to be a prophet for knowing how God thinks about other peoples jokes. No wonder so many are turned away from the reformed faith because of bickering on such trivial issues.

I read the report on him from the Soterology room and they are of the opinion that he is Hyper-Calvinistic. I don't see it.
