Are you being honest that you really cannot see what's insulting about the question, "So what's it like being just as bad as your enemies?" because that was the question asked when I answered, "I'm sorry but if you can't pose a question without insulting me or using emotional hyperbole, you aren't worth the time."
If you really honestly don't get the insult let me rephrase his question and ask it of you.
So what's it like Fin12 being just as bad as a person who would crash a couple of planes into a building murdering three thousand people and also being as bad a person who would use a small knife to decapitate an innocent journalist or as bad a person who invades a house to kill the mother, father, and brothers of a young girl, rape her multiple times, and then murder her? How does it feel being such a person? Does your family know that you're so horrificly horrendous that you would strap a remote control bomb to a retarded teen, send her into a marketplace full of families shopping, then detonate the bomb killing scores of people who are merely trying to survive? Do your friends know that you are so devoid of humanity that you would do everything in your power to include killing yourself just to make sure an opposing party that your party has trampled the rights of for decades just so your side could return to political power? The same power that was used to invade homes in order to murder the men so you could rape the women? The same power that would wantonly kill anyone with just a slightly dissenting view? The same power that would beat people and capriciously cut out their tounges? The same power that would capture people and hang them from chains and hook electrical wires to their genitalia shocking them, beating them, and killing them because they were a different sect of Islam?
So please tell me what's not insulting about Nihilist's question and please tell me what it adds to the discussion? His question is as typical and worthless as the cliche, "Have you stopped beating your wife yet?"

You have graphically described torture and killing. But you only do so becuase it's your enemies in question and you want me to think, "ooh they are evil".
But when it comes down to U/S/ military shock and awe tactics, Or what they did to guantanamo prisoners, and what you condone now, you don't see that as bad.
Your post has said; my enemies are bad, becuase they make decisions on who should die and who should be tortured.
And in the same thread, you make a decision about who can be morally
tortured and killed.
However you twist it, your problem with the terrorists is not whether killing or torture is wrong, (on the contrary, from your stance it is "right") Your problem with them is that you disagree with WHO they kill and torture. But you try and mask it by saying that they act immorraly, forgetting the actual reason you find them immoral.
I'm not saying your moral choice is wrong, I'm saying that what you advocate is exactly the same as your enemies.
THE ONLY diffference, is that your enemies have a different definition of evil.
So yes nihilists question is insulting, but it's a fair question. You condone torture, so do your enemies, you condone the war, so do your enemies.
You can't ask me why I haven't stopped beating my wife, becuase thier is no evidence to say I beat my wife.
I'm sorry to say but I think nihilist has a valid point, you may not be carrying out the acts, but in a theoretical sense. You have failed to provide a reason to why we should consider you any different to your enemies.
Same murder, same torture, a different reason.
