• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Right now I'm on Lithium 900mg and Trazadone 150mg for sleep. Towards the end of last month I had 4 days of hypomania 2 days of mania and 6 days of severe depression. Now I'm back to baseline. I'm suppose to go to the doctor Thursday. And I'm thinking a med change might be in order -- to prevent more episodes. I'm pondering the idea of adding Topamax. I don't have a job or really do anything that requres a lot of concentration. I'm roughly 100 pounds overweight so I can afford to loose a few pounds. So I'm wondering, has anyone here had success with it?

Thanks for your input. :)

My doctor didn't think it'd be a good match for me. So he raised my lithium and added Celexa. So we'll see how this works.

About Topamax: I was on it for about a year, and it worked, just the last time I was in the hospital the pdoc took me off of it, which I still regret letting him...:(

About Celexa: Anything in the class of Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, or Zoloft gave me severe panic attacks, which really sucks...but, hopefully Celexa works for you. :)
