switchfoot went mainstream,--they signed with a secular label, and Third Day is doing the same.."to reach more people",yeah right they want more money...

Even if that is the reason - is it a sin to make money? If you are good at what you do, shouldn't you be able to earn money doing it?

I don't get the double standard. Why do so many people insist that Christian musicians be poor?

I'm sorry, but the guys in Switchfoot and in Third Day are talented musicians and songwriters. More power to them if they can make some money for their families. Maybe even enough money to support missionaries, tithe to their church so their pastor can make more money, feed the poor, or hire a qualified youth pastor.

Maybe they can adopt more children from the garbage heaps of Mexico City, or Calcutta.

Maybe they can sponsor a pregnant teen who's scared to death and thinks abortion is her only option.

Or maybe that isn't "reaching more people".

P.O.D did it too......

Is Third Day really signed with a secular label???? I didn't know THAT!!!! I thought DC Talk was going to go more for the "secular way" too... but it looks like they didn't (PRAISE THE LORD). Between them and Newsboys I'm happy with my Christian Music ;)

First off Third Day's label was BOUGHT OUT by a secular company, they had no intentions or are having any intentions of going secular. I think it's fairly safe to say that considering the power of God in their music.

Back to the question at hand.

1.)dc Talk all the way

Even if 3d or any band is going secular....we should support them unless they renounce Jesus...I mean come on people...we need to get out of our bubble of Christianity...lets be dangerous to Satan instead of sitting in our pews contemplating why one of our fave bands "went secular"...if they are following what God wants them to do lets be supportive not detractive.
