  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Oh that's great. Just what we needed in this election. Time travellers.
They are a small voting bloc but Trump is polling well with them.

This is an actual sentence from someone who does not have both oars in the water.

"Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes,
OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart
—you know, if you're a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if,
like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the
smartest people anywhere in the world—it's true!—but when you're a
conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that's
why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went
there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my
like credentials all the time, because we're a little disadvantaged—but
you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would
have been so easy, and it's not as important as these lives are (nuclear
is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the
power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of
what's going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?),
but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners—now it
used to be three, now it's four—but when it was three and even now, I
would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because,
you know, they don't, they haven't figured that the women are smarter
right now than the men, so, you know, it's gonna take them about
another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us."

The random, unstructured, disconnected and incoherent ramblings of a mad man, on display. Wow.

This may deserve its own thread, but in preparation for his classified security briefing...

"Hours before he is set to receive his first classified intelligence briefing, Donald Trump said he does not trust information coming out of U.S. intelligence agencies and indicated he would cease relying on the bulk of the intelligence community’s massive workforce.

During an interview aired on “Fox and Friends” Wednesday morning, Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, was asked whether he “trust intelligence.”

“Not so much from the people that have been doing it for our country,” Trump responded. “I mean, look what’s happened over the last 10 years. … It’s been catastrophic.
“Very easy to use them, but I won't use them, [my emphasis] because they’ve made such bad decisions,” he said, pointing to apparent intelligence failures ahead of the United States's 2003 invasion of Iraq. At the time, George W. Bush administration officials appeared convinced that Saddam Hussein’s government was creating weapons of mass destruction, though that was not the case.

“If we would have never touched it, it would have been a lot better,” Trump said."[/S]

Or, to put it another way, he won't listen to anyone who doesn't tell him what he wants to hear.

Anyone that votes for Hillary Clinton is just falling for her foolishly optimistic but very ignorant lies.

This thread is about Trump. Take it somewhere else.

Sounds like trump is saying we should BRace for his exit.
Either that, or it's the fact that he seems too xenophobic to possibly win, and his victory would lead to years of recession.

Pippin: What about Brexit?

Aragorn: You've already had it.

Pippin: We've had one, yes. What about second Brexit?

Merry: I don't think he knows about second Brexit, Pip.

One can only hope. But, with an ego that big, could it really happen? Not unless he has heard that the Republican Party is about to pull the plug on his funding.

Yes, his ego is so big he won't quit. Instead, he will become so outrageous that they will have no choice to take him off the ballot (if they can), and trump will get out of having to quit and will blame them for stopping him. It is a slow-motion train wreck we all are witnessing and the outcome is obvious.

I hope my comment is in the right thread. I am rather surprised that there has been no mention of the naked statues of Trump that showed up in a few major cities, including Capitol Hill, yesterday. New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and Cleveland were all cursed with these 'Emperor Trump' statues. Any comments?
