Well, unless things are reported not much will happen. That's the point.

I can easily say from experience, its not that hard. It takes little time from one's real life, and as long as you stay impartial the majority will back you up. Occasionally, the rabid hate-patrol goes out of whack, but mostly the general populace sees those individuals for what they are, which makes the mod job much easier.

Everyone will hate you at one point or another, this is true... but it always blows over, and it is never more than one or two at a time.

While a mod I thought it was tough... but after leaving the position, I realized it was a pretty easy job overall.

True to a point, but not the experience of everyone, especially since you have left the team we have had to deal with a lot of changes in the systems and rules.

To clear this up- I don't think it is ok to badger other believers- but I've been around long enough to know that it happens. I'm not a moderator of the whole of the forum, just little bits. Whatever happens over there I cannot do much about- it is up to individuals involved to report posts they don't like. We merely moderate, we do not rule over.

Usually, over there I see pandering. For example, Orthodox mods watch out for the Orthos... the Catholic mods watch out for the Catholics, ect. While most of the time they do well, the times they fall apart are when they watch out for their own kind. And, well... since the Jews don't have mods of like kinds... well... no "special" protection is granted.

I don't think the problems are widespread, but there certainly are rough patches for those of us who wonder outside of the MJ forum.

No, that's not the point. You see, the FEW times I've seen Jews verbally assault someone here, they usually get dealt with.... before a report is even made. If a Jew dares break character, no report need be made, the mods are on top of it in a flash. It needn't even be taken that far.

The same is NOTreturned in kind.



But, beyond that, all too often I've seen antisemetic drivel go without correction, even with reports made.

Which is just what I said to try and defuse the situation and I got a fairly naf response from the staff in my view!

I was merely encouraging the complainant to report the matter if they didn't like it - that was ALL I said about it - which is exactly what you are now saying. I didn't knock the staff and I didn't assume that any one member of the staff should be responsible for any one thread so I am at a loss to know why I got the naf reponse.

Please tell me (and others on this thread) in how many posts I have actually attacked the staff - I an intrigued that you keep records or even bother to count such trivial things.

If being a Moderator means you have to address people in this way then, thanks for the invite but I'll let it pass - I couldn't cope with my conscience in having to do the job.

As above....act if you may, but if you get nowhere, let someone else know. The posters shouldn't have to tolerate bias from the staff- the rules should be the guidelines.
