I understand your resolve, it is too great a paradigm shift to hold the truth which breathes all around us and the life of the Spirit of God. Unless you saw the way they harmonize.

I don't really know exactly how old the universe is, but we can make a rough estimate of about 6000 years old.

The Lord could have created the universe 6000 years ago. He could have created it last week. However it has the appearance of being billions of years old. There is no physical evidence for the Earth being merely 6000 years old.

A question which i still struggle with: If the Earth is very old, that means millions of years of death and survival of the fittest. How could death enter the world through Adam's sin relatively recently? Hence also why i believe the Earth was created recently and given the appearance of age.
