"It took just 71 days for Donald Trump to wreck the American economy, mortally wound NATO, and destroy the American-led world order.

He did this with the enthusiastic support of the entire Republican party and conservative movement.

He did it with the support of a plurality of American voters.

He did not hide his intentions. He campaigned on them. He made them the central thrust of his election. He told Americans that he would betray our allies and give up our leadership position in the world."

-Jonathan Last, The Bulwark

I know right. I mean I'm paying so much more for everything in the last 71 days I can't hardly afford to live. There are NO jobs anywhere and I think unemployment is around 20% or so.

And NATO, well NATO is defunct without all the American money. All those poor European countries who have large public welfare programs and income supports can't afford to defend themselves and will immediately be taken over by Russia. They aren't even depending on each other.

As I recall, the goal was to provide relief to American consumers on day 1....
Two months in, I have yet to see any relief.

President Trump Says Chip Tariffs Coming ‘Very Soon’

Most semiconductor chips used in the United States are imported from Asia.

President Trump’s sweeping global tariffs have rocked the stock market since being announced on Tuesday, with just about every major tech company down double-digits. Semiconductors were largely spared from an immediate impact, however, as chips from Taiwan and other nations were exempted. Most electronics sold in the United States are powered by chips made in Asia, meaning tariffs would have a significant impact on prices. But Trump told a White House press pool on Thursday that tariffs on semiconductors will be imposed “very soon.”

We know the stock market is tanking.
We know the consumer price index is rising and will continue to rise.
We know Americans are reducing spending.
We know tariffs are already taking a toll on border businesses and tourism.
We know consumer confidence is falling and will continue to fall.
We know the Fed Chair is talking tariff induced recessionary measures.

All this "good news" has taken place in just two months of a Trump presidency.
That's what you should know.

The 10% tariff does not go into effect until April 5th (tomorrow) while the "reciprocal" tariffs go into effect on April 9th. We do know there are hard-core Democrats who would rather see our nation destroyed than let Trump succeed.

Even if this were true, they have no power to do anything. Whether they want to or not, we all have to let Trump and his GOP majority in the Congress do as they like within the confines of the law. We have made our predictions, and the results are owned by Trump and the GOP.

I've said it before, that trump did this isn't a surprise, that he did it this quickly and idioticly and to this level is the surprise
He had to do this early…the plans to repeal the 22nd Amendment have to be implemented before the mid-terms.

Don't play if you can't afford to loose. I will make up all my market losses once the Trump and Melina crypto takes off.
It’s going take-off to a country where we don’t have an extradition treaty in place, js.

I think he is just bothered that penguins aren’t threatened by ICE.
On a more serious note the imbecile's 10% tariff on Australia was imposed despite the fact the trade balance is very much in America's favour.
It leads to the question how did a collection of half-wits come up with this magic bullet formula that determines the amount of tariff imposed on each country.
Should Australia use Trump's idiotic comment they are subsidizing the American economy due to the trade imbalance?

You and me both, lol
reminds me of how comic books and baseball/hockey cards and kids toys was a good way to make money untill everyone heard about them being worth money and suddenly new ones lost some of their value because people were taking better care,

you do know there is a lag right? prices will go up, but they still have the old stock they got at the normal prices, and waiting to see how bad things are before raising.

but trumps been insulting and threatening canada for months now, so tourism from canada is down 40-60%, and purchasing from the US has gone down greatly.

I'd argue that it's in the US's favour with most countries, for the 1000 time, per capita canada pays more for US goods then us pays for ours. I would expect the bigger country to buy more stuff, yet canada is only making 10% more.

US, Canada flight bookings fall 75%, domestic tourism slows
Businesses at U.S towns bordering Canada are in dire straits as anger against Donald Trump grows, many facing bankruptcy while others shut down

Really kind of irrelevant since the stance against Canada has already had negative ramifications to American businesses .
Tourism down, US border businesses are taking a beating.
Trump has managed to unite entire countries around the world, less the the country he leads.
Trump can try to make this country succeed, just don't ruin everyone's life savings in trying to do so.
