I am quite sure behind the scenes the US is reaching out to China.
Stories from a ways back were about the US trying to get Xi to call Donald. The Chinese are willing to let low-level people talk to low-level people as a prelude to something larger, but that kind of diplomatic etiquette is not included in the Art of the Deal.

What does reasonably trustworthy really mean? Sometimes, maybe they might get it right?
I would click the link in the post provided for you if I could. In there, it explains what it means in the case of Al Jazeera.

In the case of Al Jazeera, it has a thrust score of 41.30, which is just over the score that is considered a good, reliable news source. Fox News has a score of 35.8, so a bit beneath it, but still alright.

The MAGA hats that were available for purchase at the Newaygo County Republicans in Michigan last year had the tags already cut out. I guess that was for comfort.
How about an alternative:

China orders airlines to suspend Boeing jet deliveries amid trade war

April 15 (Reuters) - China has ordered its airlines not to take further deliveries of Boeing jets in response to the U.S. decision to impose 145% tariffs on Chinese goods, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Handing the world's largest aviation market to Airbus - must be that "art of the deal" I keep hearing about.

Trump’s Maga faithful want to get even. They have nothing left to lose

Telegraph analysis shows McDowell County [West Virginia] is the poorest Republican county in America that has a population of more than 10,000 people. Household income here averages $29,980 (£22,600) a year. Of the 3,142 US counties, it is one of only eight where household income is less than $30,000.

Sandi, 53, grew up as a coal miner’s daughter in McDowell, before becoming a nurse, mother, foster mother, Christian missionary and Donald Trump voter.

“We’ve had enough politicians to destroy this country and we needed a businessman,” says Sandi. “And his business model is wonderful, impeccable. It cannot be argued with.”

To Sandi, Trump is bringing winds of change to Washington that will bring jobs back to America and lift up places like McDowell County.

[Sandi is a big fan of DOGE.] “If they get rid of the IRS [Internal Revenue Service], we won’t have to pay income taxes,” she says.

[GOP strategist Luntz] “These are people who went all in on him. They cannot afford higher prices, and they will punish him if these tariffs lead to higher prices.”

For now, Sandi and her husband are unfazed. “We’re already so poor and we’re already so stressed in this county and in this state, at this point, we won’t hardly notice,” she says.

When prices rise, people simply go without, says Sandi. Her household has already stopped buying orange juice after bad harvests sent orange prices soaring in 2024.

But it is early days in the president’s trade war and sentiment may change.

“I don’t know what breaks them, but I think the tariffs thing could,” says Luntz.

“I know these people. I talk to them all the time, and they’re really angry because they feel like they did what they were supposed to do and life just did not turn out well for them.”

--

“If anybody would actually understand what world trade is and understand how we’re getting screwed right now, they would be praising the man,” 36-year-old [McDowell Co resident] Justin Beavers says of Trump.

“But as a country we must be doing something right because we’ve had over 50 or 60 countries come to us and say ‘let’s negotiate this now’.”

When Beavers was crushed under a concrete block at work he went back down the coal mines the next day with a broken ankle. Beavers has since been left unable to work by his injuries

Volvo Group plans to lay off as many as 800 workers at three U.S. facilities, including Mack Trucks, over the next three months due to market uncertainty and demand concerns in the face of President Donald Trump’s tariffs, a spokesperson said on Friday.

Wow, I read some of those voter's quotes like this, "“If they get rid of the IRS [Internal Revenue Service], we won’t have to pay income taxes,” I can see why Trump loves the poorly.........

DHL Express is suspending deliveries to the US worth more than $800 (£603) because of a "significant increase" in red tape at customs following the introduction of Donald Trump's new tariff regime.

The delivery giant said it will temporarily stop shipments from companies in all countries to American consumers on Monday "until further notice".

It added that business-to-business shipments will still go ahead, "though they may also face delays".

Previously, packages worth up to $2,500 could enter the US with minimal paperwork but due to tighter customs checks that came into force alongside Trump's tariffs earlier this month, the threshold has been lowered.

IMF has updated its January estimates of 2025 GDP growth, with most of the change due to US tariffs. Global growth down 0.5%. US growth down almost a full percent. Inflation up 0.4%

This piece from the WSJ, which is not MSNBC, or CNN. They are a rather conservative outlet specially come their editorials.

Dow Headed for Worst April Since 1932 as Investors Send ‘No Confidence’ Signal

US shares dropped on Monday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropping by about 970 points, preparing for its worst month in April since the Great Depression of 1932, according to a report. Begging business leaders flood Trump with pleas for help after Apple wins tariff exemption

Per the report, Trump has been inundated with pleas from lobbyists "for the agriculture, construction, manufacturing, retail and technology industries" to make further carveouts from his tariffs, "with many arguing that there are some products they must import simply because they are too expensive or impractical to produce in the United States."

Home Depot, Target, and Walmart are among the retail giants telling Trump they cannot maintain their current prices if they don't get some kind of relief from tariffs.
