Tis the VERY BUSY Season
Hoping everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
Sunday is the First Day of Advent, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas season and the start of the church year. Christians all over the world will begin the Spiritual preparation for Christmas
At home, at work at school in our daily lives , schedules begging to seem more full, more busy with parties, get togethers, travel, and assorted events. Much is happening in this most beautiful season of the year
For me, it is more challenging at times to crowd in all the services and events I want to attend on the Sundays of Advent, Not that I am complaining, in fact I am happy to have choices During the year, it is relatively easy to look at the calendars and event listings at the different churches in the area and find one (Usually) that has something interesting and worthwhile going on. During Advent, though, they ALL seem to have something worth attending. Last year, on more than one Sunday, I was up early on a Sunday morning for an early service at one then across town to the late morning service at another, just to be able to experience the Advent celebrations at both places. On Christmas Eve, we successfully made the "Christmas Eve Church crawl" staring at 5 PM then going from service to service, culminating at Midnight Mass
So today I am already mapping out schedules for the month as I can find them
But throughout this, I am reminded of the true REASON for the Season, and endeavoring to focus on that Which brings joy and peace to me, an Expression of God's Love which I will endeavor to show throughout the season and the coming year. AMEN
Hoping everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
