It's about not letting people die in the gutter like rats. No matter who they are or how they ended up there.

I find your lack of empathy on this to be rather disturbing. It seems as though you're just searching for reasons to blame people for the situations they find themselves in.

Jesus never said feed the poor and clothe the homeless unless it's their fault they're destitute.

I read your link. The cause of death of most cited are 'confidential', probably because most died of drug overdoses, HIV/AIDS related problems, not hunger or exposure.

You are conflating helping people with their immediate needs, and seeking long term solutions to this problem. Two entirely different topics. I'm addressing one, you the other.

It is not reasonable to suggest that most of these deaths are from drug overdoses or HIV just because the cause of death is confidential. Nor is that a reason why they should be written off. By the way there were two links.
Again I find your lack of compassion stunning. Just the fact that they died without getting the help that they needed is something we all should be ashamed of and we should do everything in our power to try and prevent this suffering.

We each choose our 'ministry'. Mine is helping people where I live. Yours seem to be criticizing me for not helping the homeless in New York (I live 1000 miles from New York).

Gift to the Arbor Day Foundation is to help with climate change, so the homeless masses might have a planet to live on in the future.

Note my blood pressure and heart rate reading from yesterday (just above the word 'Charities'). Pretty good, eh?
