Just saw it and loved everything Burton put into it.The guy has animators class.I liked the storyline and the way it came together.Danny Elfman scored it again giving some cool music to it.Gets a 10 from my family :)

Well typically the Academy places his pictures in "animation"

Check it out.

i agree that tim burton is the best director of all time. the nightmare before christmas, edward sissorhands, charlie and the chocolate factory, beetlejuice, planet of the apes, sleepy hollow, and batman are all on my favorite movies list. and i plan to see the corpse bride at 3 o'clock today and then add it to that list. however, i must disagree with you on one very important detail. NONE of tim burtons movies were animated. (as far as i know) the reason they look so realistic is because they are claymations. (for those of you who dont know what a claymation is, they make everything out of clay and take a still frame, move the characters and such about a 1/10th of a millameter, take another still frame, and do that for the entire movie.) very little CGI is used. it looks so 3 dimensional because it is.

sorry about that, but it really bugs me when people call tim burtons movies animated. :sorry:

So, does anyone think that Burton might be up for some kind of Oscar this year? I do, at least best animated picture, if they have that category this year.

Best Animated Picture is a normal category. It's going to be there every year.

Personally, I think Burton is going to end up sort of like Scorsese - acknowledged, but not the Oscar-winning kind of director.

Well, the rules of the Best Animated Picture say that there have to be at least eight animated films for the category to be acknowledged. I'm sure there will be at least eight, including more obscure films. And you're probably right about Burton, he'll probably get a lifetime achievment crap when he's eighty or something, same for Johnny Depp.

Mmm...I just saw it!

It's really good! Of course though, it was Tim Burton + Johnny Depp + Danny Elfman, so there were very few ways it could go wrong.

For me though...some of the songs didn't work as well as the songs in Nightmare Before Christmas did.

Just my opinion though!

I'm going to see it tonight maybe. ;) Or later this week. I love Tim Burton. Him and Mel Brooks are my two favourites... but they're so different you can't really compare 'em!

Nightmare before Christmas was killer... and any colaborations with Johnny Depp can't be beat for sure! Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Ed Wood... ;)

Big Fish was awesome too... I love Ewan McGreggor. :D
