It says to keep the Sabbath day holy Exodus 20:8 and the Sabbath is a holy convocation -holy gathering/assembly Lev 23:3. The day to honor God Isaiah 58:13- is our worship worthy of a day God sanctified, blessed and made holy or a day to do work and labors? Exodus 20:9
That's just more eisegesis cobbling. You know I keep the Sabbath myself from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday. So it shouldn't be particularly difficult to convince me. But all I see is eisegesis and a lack of hermeneutics.
Not really, all of God's Word is for learning and correcting 2 Tim 3:16
That has nothing to do with someone making the Bible say whatever they want it to say.
Eating is not the same as harvesting. Deuteronomy 23:25 The disciples did not break the Sabbath and either did Jesus but its sad people would try to make this case over just obeying one of God's commandments.
Plucking grain is not the same thing as eating gran. That's a ridiculous notion. Them eating grain was not the issue. It was them performing the labor of plucking the grain that was a violation of the sabbath. Just the same as eating bread on the sabbath is not forbidden, but making and baking bread on the sabbath is forbidden. If you think keeping the sabbath is mandatory, then I suggest you get a better understanding of what's actually allowed and what's forbidden.
Unless one deems themselves not a people of God. Hebrews 4:9 NIV. Jesus kept the Sabbath commandment and all the commandments His entire life and is our example to follow. 1 John 2:6 and told us to keep His commandments- which of course includes the Sabbath commandment that Jesus and the apostles all kept.
There's nothing you can come up with where Jesus ever says a single thing about keeping the sabbath. Or where any NT author says anything about keeping the sabbath.
Honestly, I just see your words against the written and spoken Word of God who personally wrote and spoke the Sabbath commandment along with the other 9 commandments, kept in the Most Holy of His Temple in Heaven Revelation 11:19 which is what the earthy temple was modeled after Hebrews 8:5
Nope my words are just against what you are coming up with.
I guess we will find out soon enough if we need to keep this commandment God said to Remember. For me, I am going to believe and obey God. I will leave it as agree to disagree and wish you well in seeking Truth to His Word.
I think you believe going to church on Saturday instead of Sunday is a ticket to heaven and in that is where you place your faith.

Where does it say the Sabbath commandment has been abrogated or the law of God written in the heart and mind Hebrews 8:10 Jer 31:33 did not include the Sabbath commandment- that was kept the entire life of Jesus and by the apostles long after the cross. For me, I would rather play it safe especially considering it is one of the Ten Commandments God personally wrote and personally spoke. Spending time with God on His holy and blessed day is not a burden, but the blessing as it is promised Isaiah 58:13-14 so not sure why people fight this so much considering there is no commandment for thou shalt keep holy the first day anywhere in the scripture and not a day God blessed or made holy or sanctified for holy use. If you think worship doesn't belong on a day that is holy and blessed by God but better suited to be on a day God deemed to do works and labors that's ones free will, for me, I prefer to keep holy God's holy things, Ezekiel 22:26 even if there wasn't a commandment but there is still after the cross Luke 23:56 because it has never been abrogated and God's saints keep God's commandments Revelation 14:12 because faith upholds the law Romans 3:31 and should walk a different path, the path Jesus took, which includes keeping the law of God. John 15:10. Anway, we have free will to believe what we want, and I wish you well in seeking Truth to His Word.
As I’ve pointed out before the commandment was six days shall you work and on the seventh rest. He never said the seventh day of the week.

but making and baking bread on the sabbath is forbidden.
Unless it was in preparation for the feast of unleavened bread. They were allowed to prepare food on that day even tho it was on the Sabbath.

There's nothing you can come up with where Jesus ever says a single thing about keeping the sabbath.
Jesus said to keep the commandments of God and quoted directly from the unit of Ten. Matthew 15:3-9 Matthew 19:17-19
Matthew 5:19-30 and kept the Sabbath commandment and is our example to follow. John 15:10, 1 John 2:6. Every time you see keeping the commandments of God, that includes the Sabbath commandment- that God wrote and God spoke. Exodus 20, Exodus 32:16
Or where any NT author says anything about keeping the sabbath.
You must be reading a different bible. There 55 references to the Sabbath in the NT, all being kept by Jesus and the disciples and never once telling us not to keep.

But here's one that tells us verbatim to keep.

Hebrews 4:9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God

Rest here is sabbatismos which literally means keeping of the Sabbath. So this verse says there remains a keeping of the Sabbath for the people of God.

σαββατισμὸς (sabbatismos)
Noun - Nominative Masculine Singular
Strong's 4520: A keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest.
I think you believe going to church on Saturday instead of Sunday is a ticket to heaven and in that is where you place your faith.
It's more than just going to church on Saturday, its about our obedience to God through love and faith.

As I’ve pointed out before the commandment was six days shall you work and on the seventh rest. He never said the seventh day of the week.
So now, we can pick a Sabbath? Not according to my bible.

Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

In almost every ancient language Saturday translates into the Sabbath. God is in control of His holy Sabbath day and the 7 day work week can be traced right back to Creation Genesis 2:1-3

What day did Jesus rise on?

Matthew 28:1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

Hebrews 3:15 while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

Is someone in rebellion to God obeying what He asks or disobeying?

Hebrews 4 helps answer this question....

Hebrews 4:6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience

“For who provoked Him when they had heard? Indeed, did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬-‭19‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

They were not permitted to enter into His rest because God had declared that He would not allow them to because of their unbelief.

Yes, same as Hebrews 4:6 as I stated in the post you replied to unbelief and disobedience are used interchangeably

Hebrews 4:6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience

Disobedience and unbelief are the same thing.

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord (believers), have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (disobedient)

Psalms 40:8 I delight to do Your will, O my God,
And Your law is within my heart.”

and kept the Sabbath commandment and is our example to follow.
For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God. John 5:18
John 15:10, 1 John 2:6. Every time you see keeping the commandments of God, that includes the Sabbath commandment-
Not in those verses. Or any other New Testament verse you've come up with.
that God wrote and God spoke. Exodus 20, Exodus 32:16
To the Old Covenant Hebrews.

My Bible has 58. None of them say for Christians to keep the sabbath.

Strong's 4520: A keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest.

Seems that's the only one out of the entire New Testament and it's a real stretch which has to be isolated from the rest of Hebrews make it look like it works. Funny how that doesn't have to be done with what the Old Testament says about keeping the Sabbath.

It's more than just going to church on Saturday, its about our obedience to God through love and faith.
But the primary focus on obedience and following commandments is going to church on Saturday instead of Sunday. That's why it's called Seventh Day Adventist. That's what it's about. That's what the primary focus is, that is what faith is being placed in.

Jesus did not break the Sabbath- He said so in His own Words- John 15:10 do you believe the ones who crucified Jesus without a cause or the very Word of Jesus? I know who I believe. This is what the Jews were accusing Him of, not what happened. If you believe Jesus broke the Sabbath, then I assume you don't believe Jesus is equal to God either.

If you believe Jesus broke the Sabbath what the Jews was accusing Him of then there is no hope for any of us, because breaking the law makes one a sinner. 1 John 3:4, Romans 7:7 Jesus was no sinner Hebrews 4:15 1 Peter 2:22

No point in continuing- so wish you well.

John 5:18 says "not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father." Is half a lie and the other half true? Is that how John writes, mixing the truth with lies? When one has a correct understanding of Mark 2:27-28 it becomes perfectly clear.

One can see it that way when one doesn't understand Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:28; Luke 6:5

Have you never caught on to: Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.” Mark 2:27-28

The phrase “the Lord of the Sabbath” is found in Matthew 12:8, Mark 2:28, and Luke 6:5. In all three instances Jesus is referring to Himself as the Lord of the Sabbath or, as Mark records it, “The Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath” (Mark 2:28). In these verses, Jesus is proclaiming that He is the One who exercises authority even over the rules and regulations that govern the Sabbath day.

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

To obey everything that Christ commanded. Christ Jesus the Lord of the Sabbath never commanded us to continue keeping the Sabbath.

Instead rather the Lord of the Sabbath, allowed His disciples to harvest grain on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:1).

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them." Matthew 5:17. The Lord of the Sabbath fulfilled the Law of the Sabbath.

Fulfill pléroó to make full, to complete. Usage: I fill, fulfill, complete.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

No point in continuing- so wish you well.
Ditto.

Jesus is the Creator of the Sabbath and of all the heavens and earth and knows how the Sabbath is to be kept, the Pharasees were add their rules to the Sabbath- its not a sin to eat on the Sabbath, what the disciples were doing was equivalent to picking an apple and eating it. The Sabbath is made for man to be a blessing, not full of man-made rules which is what Jesus was correcting, not teaching its okay to break the Sabbath. Man was created on the sixth day Genesis 1:26 in the image of God to follow Him and was created before the first Sabbath Genesis 2:1-3 celebrated in the presence of God. The Sabbath is about holy communion with God made for mankind.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Yup, which is why the apostles and His followers kept the Sabbath and all of the commandments decades after the cross, and why Jesus excepted His followers to do so. Matthew 24:20

To fulfill here means to fill-full not abolish the same thing Jesus said in clear language He did not come to do and goes on to say not to break the least of the commandments so not giving permission to break God’s commandmnets.

I made a covenant with my spouse when we wed. I fulfill my vows when I am faithful to my husband, not by committing adultery- this is the context of fulfill in this passage by the clear language of Jesus- I did not come to destroy and do not break the least of the commandments and he’s quoting from the Ten. Matthew 5:19-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28
Yes, but we don’t want to follow the same path of the Israelites who did not receive their rest by being disobedient to what God asks. Hebrews 4:6, Hebrews 4:11

Again, it was an accusation- sorry to see you take the side of the Pharisees
Please stop with the defamatory potshots, they discredit you.

John doesn't appear to be stating it as a falsehood . And Jesus calling God his own Father wasn't a falsehood or wrongful accusation. It would have been for anyone else though. If anyone else had gathered grain on the Sabbath, or allowed his disciples to, and called God his own Father, that person would be guilty on both counts. But Not Jesus.

Jesus being Lord of the Sabbath is not saying Jesus is above the Sabbath and can break it and now giving authority for everyone to break the Sabbath commandment says no where in God’s Word.
The term Lord as used means sovereign, a supreme ruler. Lord of the Sabbath would mean supreme ruler of the Sabbath. Meaning Jesus is the One who exercises authority even over the rules and regulations that govern the Sabbath day.

Sticking to eating on the Sabbath is an obvious diversion. They were gathering grain, and that is breaking the Sabbath. Picking fruit on the Sabbath is also a violation of the Sabbath. They gathered before they ate what they harvested. They could not have eaten the grain, without having gathered it first, which would be a violation of the Sabbath - under normal circumstances. Harvesting grain on the Sabbath being a violation of the Sabbath is a God-made, not man-made rule.

Yup, which is why the apostles and His followers kept the Sabbath and all of the commandments decades after the cross, and why Jesus excepted His followers to do so. Matthew 24:20
Jesus allowed His disciples to gather grain in the Sabbath. Which He alone had the authority to do.
To fulfill here means to fill-full not abolish the same thing Jesus said in clear language He did not come to do and goes on to say not to break the least of the commandments so not giving permission to break God’s commandmnets.
Jesus had the authority to over the rules and regulations that govern the Sabbath day. He didn't break the law, He changed the law. Yes, Jesus gets to change the law.

You didn't write the vows. You just agreed to them. God is the one who wrote the Law, and Jesus had all authority over the Law. Therefore He had all authority to change the Law which He did through completing the Law (Matthew 5:17)
Yes, but we don’t want to follow the same path of the Israelites who did not receive their rest by being disobedient to what God asks. Hebrews 4:6, Hebrews 4:11
Jesus is our rest, He said so Himself (Matthew 11:28). Put you faith in Jesus, not the Sabbath. Which I doubt you keep, because you probably do minor things like rinsing out a glass or picking something up off the floor etc etc that you don't recognize as violating the Sabbath. I figure you account having Saturday off from work and going to church on Saturday as keeping the Sabbath. But the God-made rules of the Sabbath are much more rigid than that:

32 Now while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. 33 And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation. 34 They put him under guard, because it had not been explained what should be done to him. 35 Then the Lord said to Moses, “The man must surely be put to death; all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” 36 So, as the Lord commanded Moses, all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died. Numbers 15:32-36

God had a man put to death just for picking up some sticks on the Sabbath. That's how rigid and severe the God-made Sabbath Law was.

We either believe Jesus that He kept the commandments John 15:10 or the Pharisees Matthew 12:10 who accused Him of breaking the Sabbath and being equal to God (which they didn't believe) and crucified Him. I believe Jesus. Jesus did not come to change a dot or an i from the commandments. He obeyed His Father and came to do His will John 6:38 so no editing of His commandments Deut 4:2 or His Word Prov 30:5-6
Jesus is our rest, He said so Himself (Matthew 11:28).
Jesus did not say He is our rest, He said He gives rest there is a huge difference
Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

In Christ rest there is no rebellion and breaking God’s commandments is being in rebellion to God. Romans 8:4-8, Hebrews 4:6 and we should not follow the same path of disobedience Hebrews 4:11 and expect a different result. Which is why there is a plea- Hebrews 3:15, Psalms 95:7-8

It's no different than worshipping other gods, bowing to idols, coveting or lying- you break one you break them all James 2:10-12. No law keeping is for salvation- we are saved by the blood of Jesus through our faith. Those who have faith walk a different path than those who don't because Jesus changes us from the inside out and one wants to keep the commandments of God because they love God and have faith in what He asks.
So then you’re saying only sabbath keepers love God?

Also you say that “no law keeping is for salvation” yet your interpretation of Hebrews 3 & 4 implies that people are not permitted to enter into Christ’s rest unless they are obedient. So that’s a contradiction between what you’re saying here and how you’re interpreting Hebrews 3 & 4. The reason they were not permitted to enter into His rest was because of their unbelief not because of their disobedience because every Christian has been disobedient. Salvation isn’t based on disobedience is based on belief and a person’s love and desire to serve God.

So then you’re saying only sabbath keepers love God?
I didn't write the scripture, this is what scripture says and its not "isolated" to the Sabbath commandment, but part of the commandments of God.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments.
Exodus 20:6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.

Also you say that “no law keeping is for salvation” yet your interpretation of Hebrews 3 & 4 implies that people are not permitted to enter into Christ’s rest unless they are obedient.
Again, I am not implying it is what the scriptures states. Hebrews 4:6, Hebrews 4:11 In God's rest there is no rebellion to Him but peace Isaiah 48:18, which means one is in full submission and is obedient. We are not saved by keeping the law- it is how a saved person lives Revelation 14:12, there's a difference. We all have sinned and fall short, which is why we are living in God's grace. Shall we sin because of grace- God forbid! It means No! Romans 6:1-2. We can overcome sin through the power of Jesus Christ- sin is breaking the law. 1 John 3:4, Romans 7:7
So that’s a contradiction between what you’re saying here and how you’re interpreting Hebrews 3 & 4.
No just misunderstandings.
The reason they were not permitted to enter into His rest was because of their unbelief not because of their disobedience
This scripture seems to be pretty clear Hebrews 4:6.....unbelif and disobedience is used interchangeable. Again, Jesus addresses this at His return Matthew 7:21-23 which is why we receive warnings if we are to believe His own Words, because He loves us and wants us to make the right choices.
because every Christian has been disobedient.
Yes, which is why Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. Instead of sacrificing animals when we sin, we can now go directly to Him and pray for forgiveness when we repent. True repentance means one has a change of heart and wants to turn from sin and walk with Jesus in His Spirit in obedience to Him which He helps us to obey but it requires our efforts in cooperation with His Spirit John 14:15-18
Salvation isn’t based on disobedience is based on belief and a person’s love and desire to serve God.
How do you believe someone but not believe what they ask. That doesn't sound like real belief. When you believe someone, you do what they ask, not just hear it. James 1:22, Revelation 22:14 which is done through faith and love. Romans 3:31 Revelation 14:12 1 John 5:3, John 14:15, Exodus 20:6

John 15:10 is Jesus saying If you keep My commandments. Why use inapplicable verses? It's almost like I'm expected to not know them our hover my cursor over them. And when it comes to Sabbath Law, I don't need to go by the Pharisees because I have God-made Sabbath Law to go by. And gathering grain on the Sabbath is a violation of Sabbath Law. However... Jesus is the sovereign Lord of the Sabbath, which means He has the authority to change Sabbath Law. Jesus is greater than the Sabbath Law, not the other way around.

Jesus did not say He is our rest, He said He gives rest there is a huge difference
Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Please explain what the huge difference is.
Christ the sovereign Lord of The Sabbath has total authority over the Sabbath Law, therefore God Jesus is not rebelling against Himself or breaking His own commandments by exercising His sovereign supreme authority as Lord of the Sabbath over the Sabbath.

What the Pharisees saw as Jesus breaking the Sabbath, was Jesus exercising exercising His sovereign supreme authority as Lord of the Sabbath over the Sabbath. The problem is they didn't recognize His authority in the matter. Neither does SDA doctrine apparently.

Do you not know the difference between giving someone something verses I am that something?

I am not going to continue debating if Jesus sinned and broke the Sabbath 1 John 3:4 Romans 7:7- sad its a teaching out there but all gets sorted out soon enough.

No I said our rest in and through Christ Jesus.

You're going to continue repeating the same thing over and over again, even after it's been thoroughly debunked.

"tempted in all points as we are yet WITHOUT SIN" Heb 4:15
"Which one of you convicts Me of sin?" John 8:48
"SIN IS transgression of the LAW" 1 John 3:4
"through the LAW comes the knowledge of what sin is" Rom 3:19-20
