I think it's more uncomfortable if I don't.
I used to be painfully shy. But I've worked on it for so long, people hardly ever notice anymore.

^ No. There really aren't any shortcuts. You learn when you're ready to learn...and not a moment before. Some people get there quicker...but it's not a race. We get there when we're supposed to.
