Right now I'm a little miffed at yet another e-mail message and/or Facebook status chain that starts out well enough--promotes Christian values--but then tries to guilt-trip you with "Remember, Jesus said if you deny Him before others, He'll deny you before the Father, so are you going to ignore this, or repost/forward/spam others with it?"

Yecch.

I immediately delete anything that says fwd to 20 folks or you are ashamed or whatever. In fact if the thing even starts with "this really works"...or "lets keep this going" I dump it straight away.

What a ridiculous thing, and to have a friend send it is even more offensive, though Ive never confronted them on it, I have a BIL that sends me those all the time.

I'm going to teach my kids how to track storms this week. :cool1:
That sounds very cool! Are you homeschooling? Or is this just general interest?

Though personally I'm a storm wimp - I still jump at the sound of thunder, and my biggest fear are tornadoes...yeah, I've never actually seen on in real life.
I blame the movie "Twister" for scarring me as a child!! :p
Also I love your onionhead, it makes your schooling look EPIC! :D

Hahaha! I love that movie! It made me terrified of tornado's too. I hates them, preciousss. (Too much LotR....) I told Jason if we ever move to Texas, we won't live in the countryside. We'll live in the big city where twisters are less likely to touch ground.

I love thunder and lightning though. :)

I wish I was homeschooling. This is just me enriching them and expanding their horizons. I will say, we are storm tracking, not chasing! lol There is a tropical storm brewing and I thought it would be fun to teach them how to track the movement with the coordinates.

My older son has been through a few hurricanes and they have both been through a tropical storm that flooded the pond (thankfully in the opposite direction) behind our house.

Hurricanes don't skeer me. ;) But, they did when I was little. We had a storm when I was 4 and I cried every time my parents took our miniature poodle out to the bathroom b/c I thought the wind would carry her away like Dorothy and Toto in the Wizard of Oz.

I actually like the storms themselves, it's the damage I could do without.

I've only experienced one tornado - but it was the middle of the night, so I only heard it, I didn't see it. It did sound just like a train - my mom found me after all huddled up with my dog in my shower stall. lol

I really, really don't like those.

I won't lie - the movie Jaws is exactly why I don't swim in the ocean. :preach:

I don't either.

One of my friends had put something in their status about bullying and I bet you don't post this blah blah blah. I read it and thought "you're right, I won't." The funny thing is that I find that kind of attitude to be bullying.

Hubs has some girl (from some classes he teaches) posting pic comments on FB. So, I went behind her and posted a few myself...just so she knows he's mine. :holy:

And, the text convo about this now between me and hubs is rather funny. He's such a goofball. ^_^

Oh, the irony!! LOL!

I hate those types of posts as well.

This picture made me laugh. The caption read, "Ever wake up in the wrong bed?"

We are purchasing a used truck for hubs tonight when I get off work. We put a hold on it on Saturday. It is perfect for what he wanted/needed and was exactly in our budget/price range! :ok:

We are meeting with a realtor on my lunch break and have been looking at rentals online. I love our home, but we are simply outgrowing it too rapidly. We have decided to rent for the next couple of years and then see what the market is doing before purchasing again. Bad time to sell a house, I know - but we don't have the $$ to add on to our existing home and would never see a good ROI in this market if we did anyway.

Aaaaaand....my purple M is gone. After about 4 years of being a mod, I decided it was time to leave staff. Too much going on in my personal life...and I'm hoping it will help me focus on that stuff instead of feeding my CF addiction so much. ;)
