From bathroom water leaks, to frozen hot water kitchen pipe! Oh, the fun just never ends!

I finally got the kitchen pipe up and going. Baked a couple batches of muffins and cookies....that heats up the room pretty good! Also, I have a Brita filter on the tap, so I took that off, gave it a thorough cleaning with lemon and a toothbrush....VOILA! All set to go! Whew! I'm so relieved.

It is officially winter here... son had his first two hour delay for school today because of zero degree weather. Our school mandates minimum two hour delay when it hits zero. Most likely another delay tomorrow...which just breaks my son's heart..not..lol

I think I may officially cough up a lung tonight. Either that or my vocal chords are going to explode from the force of the coughing.

I had that two weeks ago, just icky all the way around.

Ugh. My sister has 3 sick kids and possibly she'll get sick soon. I really hope we don't catch that flu!

trail of wood chips? Not sure what that means. My mailbox is on a side road together with 6 other mailboxes. Plow truck took them all out one time and next day there were new mailboxes there... the state actually replaced them

I'm pretty sure some sort of landscaping truck left the woodchips...and killed the mailbox.

Today is my Friday

Just found I have Monday and Wednesday (my only two "during the week" shifts) off! Not only off, but I don't have to apply my earned holiday time or vacation time. Which means I can still take that time off after the holidays.
Basically given as a holiday bonus since my agency is broke as a joke right now and even if they weren't no bonus checks would be forthcoming.



I am the weekend/holiday worker in my department if that sheds any light on this post. I basically work any given holiday then get my own "holiday" day off at another time to compensate.

That is very nice to hear. Sometimes getting some extra days off are just plain nice.

I found out yesterday I am getting off at 1 pm on friday and don't have to be back to work until tuesday at 3 pm. Getting 3 full days off...well I could just do a happy dance. I get 1 day off one week, 2 days off following week, than reverts to 1 day off, etc...

My dog is sick. He and the neighbour's dogs have been dragging around these skinned pelts. No idea where they're coming from, but I'm betting he ate something awful. Sure hope it passes over quick.
