I guess I'm still stuck on your examples, Tropic Thunder. Why can't you mow your lawn, or trim your trees, or dig your own walkway?
I have Crohn’s Disease and it has left me permanently disabled and I use a chair walker 2-3 weeks out of my 6 week treatment cycles. Jobs that require a lot of core movement or stabilization are exceptionally hard for me. Pushing and turning the mower is very difficult and very painful, as is the bending and exertion of breaking up the tarmac on the front path. Laying it isn’t an issue since I can sit on the ground and it limits my bending. With the tree, cutting, turning, throwing the branches is hard to do while maintaining balance, but I’m not sure I could get up and down a ladder.
I used to do things like mow the lawn or trim the bushes or trees, but now not so much.
