Oh, and MercyBust?

I actually appreciate the thought of returning to the Earth and providing nourishment for all kinds of worms and insects again. It's an integral part of life, and it's the way we give back some of what we've taken from the cycle.
It's a matter of give-and-take.

Am I a bad person for thinking it would be more fun shattering supercooled cockroaches like glass, rather than resurecting them?
 I just caught IMAGES there.

This is the great-great-grandma of all derails.

A one-night stand is a monogamous and loving relationship for one night. Out of all you gay-affirmers, who is going to tell us a one-night stand is morally wrong?
Talk about a leading question....

In my view, a one-night stand is not necessarily wrong. It may be a bad idea, or not. It depends on the circumstances, of course.

If one or both of the people having a one-night stand are having an extra-marital affair, then yes, it's wrong.

If there is deception involved, so that one party thinks this is the start of a committed relationship while the other party thinks this is just a quickie, then yes, it's wrong.

If one party has an STD and doesn't tell the other person, then yes, it's wrong.

If either party is a minor, then yes, it's wrong.

If the encounter involves deception and/or possible or real harm to someone, then I think it's wrong.

If there is no deception and no harm, and if both parties are consenting adults, and if both people understand and agree on what they are doing, then hey. Whatever floats their boat. I don't judge what they are doing as wrong.

I say "generally condemned" because you and I don't share the same idea of morality... you think morality comes from the dusty, outdated law cade of semi nomadic bronze age desert dwellers, I think morality is based on activity that is benign or beneficial to the community
I love that! Reps to you for a great post with vivid imagery. I can smell those desert dwellers now!

Dang....I have to spread reps around before giving you anymore, Enemyparty. Sorry. It's like promising my daughter a popsicle and then finding that we have run out.
Consider it taken care of.

Exactly...while I personally disapprove of promiscuity, what goes on between two consenting adults is their business and that of whatever god(dess) they may happen to believe in.

As an adendum to Ohioprofs excelent coverage of when a one night stand is wrong... may I add that, in cases where either or both parties are seeking out sex as some sort of coping mechanism to counter some form of neurological issue... then I think its "wrong"... insofar as they would be better of identifying and treating the root cause of their issues... but nothing is immoral or wrong just because some authority says so.

Morality, right and wrong are based on logic.

I'm trying to parse MB's posts, but they're still coming out garbage.

Thats because MB has moved from being just a bigot with a loud mouth and little to no reading comprehension, to a full on troll at this point. He is no longer even pretending to be contributing to the thread, instead dolling out ratings based on whether or not the poster in question agrees with him.

Its pretty much a capitulation on his part. He's never been able to defend his position, he seems to know this, and apparently sees no point in trying any more.

Has anyone else ever had one of those days where you log on, and quickly realize that this board is going to be the strangest thing you're going to read all day?

Today is one of those days.
Yeah.

I should log in on FSTDT and start submitting quotes! ;)
