I built my cabin about 15 years ago after a divorce and sudden illness left me homeless and broke. I had inherited a small piece of land from my family’s old homestead, and I set up camp on my property with an old camp trailer and truck. Working part-time while I cleared the land, I was able to save up $2,000 and designed a 14-by-14-foot cabin that I felt I could build by myself and that would function for my needs.

Anyways, it is a very noble and fulfilling thing for you to build your own home and use renewable energy of our Earth to power it (as much as you can).

Here are two videos that may interest you as far as ideas to make your new tiny home better in storage, renewable energy, and use of space, etc.

Here is a video on a trailer. While it is super expensive and not feasible for those who do not want to throw away their money or to have a super expensive loan, what I like about this trailer is that it has great design ideas you can put in your own custom built cabin or tiny house yourself. I especially like the pull out shelves from the stairs and the ironing board idea. Very inventive and helpful on space. Definitely worth to watch the video to get ideas for your own tiny home.

You don't want a flat roof though.... and you want adjustable solar panels, as direction is very important for full sun access... I had a house in MO that had a cistern and we never ran out of water (fam of 4).

I have enough land to build a cabin and hunt on. Plus it is surrounded by lots of government land. It is level and very secluded. I have over a quarter mile of lake frontage so It is a beautiful property :]
God blessed me greatly with this and I wanna build there soon. I have decided to do this instead of a cave because it will be much cheaper

No, It is in the middle of a 5000 acre farm and surrounded by corp of engineers lake property

I am glad you went with the cabin option instead of a cave, too, my friend. Imagine all the jokes you would be hit up with by others if you told them you lived in a cave.

Um yeah. lol AND you best make that foundation really firm and level! You know about carpentry and other things... measure twice cut once...well foundations (YOU know this I know you do) is take your time and do it right stuff.
