Last week, a guy (US citizen) rear ended a Border Patrol vehicle while it was engaged in an operation. He was released at the scene.

This week, Border Patrol sends an entire tactical unit to his house to arrest him, using explosives to breech his front door, when he wasn’t even home. But his girlfriend and two little kids were. He was at work.

ETA: There are a bunch of videos on tiktok of the aftermath of the accident. This was the best angle I saw:

I know body damage can be expensive, but that hardly looks like an alleged “ramming” that would “total” a vehicle. It looks like the result of the agents’ brake-checking that Hernandez’ family claims happened.

This is insanity but even more insane is just how passive everyone is being about this militarization of American cities. Where’s all the people who defended Cliven Bundy?

Ultimately, they need to release their dashcam footage of the initial incident.

It sounds like in the area where the crash occurred, there were already people there, "ready to go" and started throwing rocks and objects at the personnel when they got out of the car.

If they're claiming that it was a "set up" in which he "accidentally" just so happened to hit them (knowing they'd have to stop) and it just so happened be in an area where people were already waiting with rocks to throw, they could be seeing that as a potential ambush.

But them releasing dashcam footage (which would allow us to see how fast they were going at the time, and see if it was a brake check vs. just getting hit) would clear a lot of things up.

....why are the Feds using the Border Patrol to pursue a U.S. citizen? Why are the feds even involved? The local police could have investigated arrested the person at some point.

What would clear things up is showing how he was tied to the protestors.

None of the other tiktok links I had seem to work anymore (or now require logging into an account, which, no, lol). But this instagram video is cell footage from another vehicle, which doesn't show the impact itself (though you can hear it), but does show both vehicles before the crash and the minute-or-so immediately following it. I don't see anybody congregating around the area yet.

Prior to seeing this video, I was ready to at least blame the accident on the guy who was arrested (since it was a rear-end collision), but now I don't even think that was his fault. The blue CBP truck is clearly driving erratically. Prior to the crash, it passes the camera a couple seconds after the Jeep, but within a single block, manages to speed ahead of it, change lanes twice (veering from the left to the right and back to the left), and stop right in front of a green light.

Based on the honking and the one agent running at the beginning, it seems like CBP was already doing something in the area, but it's not clear to me what, since I can't see any other agents who appear to have been on scene prior to the crash. Perhaps they were on the other side of the road.
