I think you can. They are not hard to figure out. They have the same wants and needs as anyone: love, unconditional, and nurturing. Something is lacking there deep inside them. Only the love of Jesus christ can fill it.
If you would think about your statement for a second---the same people who approve of homosexuality say they are no different than anyone else, yet you suggest that their inner motives and minds are impenetrable?
No, I'm saying that neither you nor I are in a position to actually know what "their" inner motives and minds are.
To make a blanket statement and say that homosexuals aren't capable of "agape love"... Well, I'm not sure I am able to make that assertion.
If God wants them to be a believer, then my opinion won't stop them. If they become born-again, they too will forsake their sins, just as we did. There were people who were doing exactly what he was describing. Those people were temple prostitutes. Just because he doesn't mention them in the letter doesn't mean they don't exist.
Anyway, I hope in the future when a non-believer who is on the fence about becoming a christian yet happens to be gay isn't pushed away by the beliefs of some of the people here.
edit: alright, peace out ContentInHim
Well the Greeks certainly understood homosexuality and preferred it as a more pure love. That's not what she said. She said (quite correctly) that the concept of homosexuality did not exist. No-one would understand the idea of sexual-orientation until hundreds of years later. Paul can talk about same-sex sexual acts because those were going on at the time. He can't talk about sexual-orientation (of which homosexuality is one type) because neither he nor his audience would have the faintest clue what he was talking about.

I disagree with you opinion... I believe that sin is something opposite to love, so love can't be sinful, in the same was as light can't be black

I'm sorry, I just cant believe some of the members of this "christian" forum. Not only are there numerous threads debating how great God thinks homosexual sex is, there are also threads debating whether sex before marriage is even a sin.
Jesus said to deny yourself and take up your cross...not if it feels good, do it!
The rich man turned around and walked off because he wanted eternal life, but he wasnt willing to follow Jesus. Some on this forum want it both ways. I can accept His gift of eternal life, and still not follow Him.
It's a sad day when a "christian" forum has debates about homosexuality and premarital sex.
If you want to read something even more "pathetic", take a look at the "Congregation" Section.
Out of 20 groups, only three are either "Fundamentalist", "Baptist", or "Reformed".
Tomorrow morning, people will be transubstantiating, consubstantiating, baptizing babies, listening to female pastors and priests, perhaps not even studying the Scriptures literally, and maybe even welcoming the riff-raff and the hoi polloi such as gays and lesbians, single women with children, women who have had abortions, Democrats, liberals and socialists and perhaps even the French* into their congregations!
One would think people would know by now that the churches are supposed to be the Exclusive Country Club of the Sanctified Elect and in particular, only conservative, fundamentalist heterosexuals (no one else need apply).
----------==========**********O**********==========----------
*It's bad enough that gays and lesbians, single women with children, women who have had abortions, Democrats, liberals and socialists somehow manage to sneak into the churches and spoil things for the rest of the "normal" people but the French! Why, they wouldn't even support the President when he decided to invade Iraq!
Ain't fittin'. It just ain't fittin'.
And again I am questioning the source of information, as God destroyed SODOM and Gomorrah way back in Genesis.
Ezekiel said:Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, surfeit of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy.
However much you might think otherwise, homosexuality refers to a person's orientation, not their actions. One can be homosexual but engage (only) in sex with members of the opposite sex. One can be hetrosexual but engage in acts of sex with members of the same sex.All of the other PC terms you are using are just variations of the same thing.
SOme societies have seen widespread occurence of same-sex sex, but the concept of sexual orientation is a modern one.Well the Greeks certainly understood homosexuality and preferred it as a more pure love.
If you want to rant and rave and make attempts at comedy, start your own thread, dont hijack this one.
Typical liberal, you think that just because someone says that homosexual behavior is sin that we dont welcome homosexuals at our church. We call sin what it is, sin...but we welcome everyone. However, they will hear the Truth preached from the pulpit, not some watered down "if it feels good do it" gospel.

Iamredeemed said:Actually, I don't think it is the parts of the Bible that are "unclear" that present a problem for most people who want to remain in their sin.

I have to agree with the OP. Sadly, this forum on CF seems devoted to "how far can I go into sin before it's sin?" and there are all too many carnal Christians who say it's not important anymore.
You know what's funny? I thought liberal Christians weren't supposed to believe stereotypes and make assumptions about someone's heart?
Would it surprise you to know that I totally disagree with the war in Iraq, and have from the beginning? Would it surprise you to know that I voted for John Kerry, and NOT "W", because of his incompetence in leading us into a war on false pretenses and at the same time killing many innocent people, and at the same time escalating our national debt?
Would it surprise you to know that I use to be a practicing homosexual, that I am not a homophobe heterosexual that doesnt understand or has never walked in their shoes?
Would it surprise you to know that I have volunteered at food kitchens, taught underprivileged children, gone on mission trips, and donate over 10% of my income to charity?

Uber seems to think that anyone who believes in the inerrancy of the Bible must be some backwards Southern.
FYI I have voted Democrat in every American election (Pink is an American citizen). She can't stand Bush 1 or 2. And oh my, she works in the arts

Feel better now?
