  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You sure dont have any problem responding now, and you STILL have yet to affirm Amos 9:14-15 as fulfilled or not.

And you STILL have yet to acknowledge your misinterpretation and affirm that Amos 9:14-15 is about the Northern Kingdom, not the Southern one. Or is your subtle shift an acknowledgement of your mistake?

Is that a threat?

Im willing to die for my faith and you are threatening me because you cant answer a question?

Epic
I and [others here] are indeed willing and ready to give our lives for Jesus.
I suppose the futurists would have the Preterists and Amills burned at the stake as heretics if they were allowed to.

John 16:2
Putting out of the synagogues they shall be doing ye.
But is coming an hour that evereone killing ye should be supposing a divine service to be offering to the God

Is the prophecy fulfilled, yes or no?

It doesnt matter if I believe it pertains to pink kittens, that has no bearing on whether or not you understand the prophecy to be fulfilled or not.

Thats a logical fallacy.

Lets try again, and I can do this all day.

Is Amos 9:14-15 fulfilled?

Jehovahs witness does that, so do mormons, as the preterist and amils do as well.

You all have the same thing in common, the same hatred of for Israel as satan.

And no wonder.

I've explained myself pretty clearly. I think you keep repeating yourself becuase you're trying to get a loaded question through. I guess you could say that I don't trust your assumptions.

Thats fine, Its "loaded" for you because you will refute yourself no matter how you answer.

Its not loaded because Im asking you a simple question, is the prophecy fulfilled?

And you cannot answer without challenging your fundamental view of modern Israel.

I deal with this same resistance when witnessing to Mormons who try and claim Jesus isnt God.

They refute it even tho its in the Bible they bring to my door (KJV)

Here is a simple format you can use to help answer Amos.

Was Jesus Christ born of a virgin and is the prophecy fulfilled in Isaiah 7:14

Yes or No (hint, the answer is yes)

Did the Israelites return never to be uprooted from the land as God promises in Amos 9:14-15?

Yes or no (now its your turn to answer)

Soo...... Yes or no?

Its literally that simple.

No, it's loaded because you make assumptions about the text that are incorrect. You were wrong about the identification of the Israel of Amos 9 and pretty much any part of the previous discussion on historical matters. You seemed unfamiliar with 2 Kings, Nehemiah, Ezra or the historical records of Sargon and Josephus. You seemingly didn't know anything about the Samaritans before this discussion began and are probably completely unprepared to discuss the Samaritan Penteteuch or Samaritan Chronicles. I don't trust the question becuase whatever your angle is, and you undoubtedly have an angle, seems based on historical ignorance.

And you cannot answer without challenging your fundamental view of modern Israel.

Amos 9:14-15 isn't about modern Israel. It's about the Northern Kingdom, as already demonstrated; unless you're going to argue that modern Israel is in fact the Northern Kingdom, which while interesting, doesn't seem to be the route taken by many.

I deal with this same resistance when witnessing to Mormons who try and claim Jesus isnt God.

Ah yes, here come the ad hominems. Brilliant. Please continue.

LLOJ had no problem answering the question, heck 5 people in my other thread answered the question, but you cant.

Amazing..

Not until just now. And indeed it was a loaded question with a host of assumptions behind it. Experience proven correct again.

Experience, yet you cannot answer the question.

Thousands of Christians visit this forum and are watching you evade the question talking about samaritans and DNA instead of answering the simplicity of yes or no.

Its not a mulitfaceted answer, its yes or no.

Yes, and you admit the Jews in Israel are the only Jews that have a chance to fulfill the prophecy.

No, and you admit the Jews will still return, as it is written.

Jesus asked these kinds of questions because they arent refutable, and you will expose the falsity of your own understanding.

You are pinning your inability to answer on me, but its not me who has the problem answering.

The answer is so simple, Im surprised youve danced for 3 pages now..

Yes, and you admit the Jews in Israel are the only Jews that have a chance to fulfill the prophecy.

Are today's Jews from the northern tribes? If not, then Amos isn't about them. If you think they are, maybe there's more to discuss.

No, and you admit the Jews will still return, as it is written.

...Amos isn't about the Jews. Amos is about Israel/the Northern Kingdom.

and you will expose the falsity of your own understanding.

Like I said, you have an angle that you're trying to push in your loaded question that is based on a set of assumptions that are themselves founded on historical ignorance. Undoubtedly you have some sort of pre-canned responses that you're itching to put out there that are themselves based on your incorrect assumptions. We've identified one assumption that is incorrect already - that Amos 9 is about the Northern Kingdom and it's cities of Bethel and Samaria (among others), not Judah. We've also identified your historical shortcomings which further put into question whatever assumptions you are making about Amos 9.

If you want to state your case about Amos 9:15, I'm all ears, but I'm not really interested in loaded questions based on ignorance.

You are pinning your inability to answer on me, but its not me who has the problem answering.

Your problem is the assumptions behind your question.

Attention everyone!

I must announce that I am going to attend a meeting, then I will be driving home, then I will be attending a couple of classes. So I may not be present for several hours. Please be so kind as to refrain from the ever so bold use of the "coward" slur based on my absence. In the meantime, the office will be open to the ad hominems of "Mormon", "JW," "Muslim," "atheist," or other fun slurs.

Thanks.

Your problem is the assumptions behind your question.

Doesnt matter what my "assumption" is.

What matters is whether or not you believe the prophecy is fulfilled, and you seem to be having great difficulty spitting out the simple yes or no required to answer said question.

Can I sign you up for that show on tv, "So you think you can dance"???

The answer can only be yes, or no, and you dont know which, as is obvious.
