yeh, right. :holy:

^_^ I believe it had to do with someone being offended by a generalized statement. Welcome to the politically correct philosophies- if one feels offended then it must be.

Unfortunately Scripture is filled with those who failed the test of political correctness in a time when this correctness was all the people wanted to hear.

So here's to keeping things politically correct. Oh wow, I'm in trouble :sorry: I don't do well in that area of philosophy.

Glad you're feeling better, Kae.

Sorry for your dilemma, Ctay. That's a tough situation to be in, but hopefully, things will all become clear soon.

Prayers for Hope.

Here, we are finally having more typical English weather. It's windy, cool and raining off and on. NOW, we can go shopping for wellies and rain slickers. Umbrellas are of little use when it's like this.

It figures that my husband has decided this weekend is the time I should learn to drive. Were I left-handed, it would be easier, as it would also be if he had an automatic, but no such luck. He's obviously not going to give up until I at least attempt to do it his way, so whatever happens is his fault, right? :p

Oh, no Revrand! A Chevy Tahoe would have been hopeless on British bike tra... um, ah, country roads.;)

Count your blessings, Porter, that you are at least driving a car configured for the roads there. I had to drive a one-ton dually pickup with a 40' horse trailer behind. Your want a challenge! Suffice it to say, I wasn't often the most popular vehicle on the road.:p;) You'll get the hang of it. Before you know it, all the differences will be old hand.

It is nice though, to hear about Jolly 'ol...

Hey, speaking of umbrellas; does anyone remember the bubble umbrellas? My Mother had one of the ruddy things. Reminded me of an up-turned pudding dish (LOL)! She loved it though, because it kept her hair dry.

I learned to drive in a straight shift.

We had some rain come through yesterday morning, early. Some thunderstorms, it look more rough to the south of us looking at the radar so I went to the lake to check the trailer out and get some peace. Didn't get much. A tree top went through someone's trailer. Got a pic.

EEK! Not only am I right handed, but I refuse to learn how to drive a stick. I guess England would not be for me. :)

As to your question, RIGHT!

That's what I thought. :p Auto [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] cars are available here, but 90% of the time, I don't need to drive. However, it would be nice to be able to go to some larger department stores nearby. Some motivation, huh? :D

Duallies with horsey haulers are common in Texas, Stude, but there's plenty of room to maneuver them. The horse trailers here are more narrow and the other vehicles employed to haul the beasts are more like vans. I don't think our neighbors at the estate have one, though. They must hire someone to move their horses when need be. That's something we won't need to worry about until we move to the country for good in a few years and I can hardly wait, but definitely no room for Tahoes there or here, not that curbs ever bothered me much. :p

Yes, I remember bubble brollies. Ack! I'll opt for a deep hooded riding duster. I like being dry head to toe.

What's this I hear about all the cameras observing the motorists? Some of the cameras even have speakers with then and talk to people. Somebody said that that vehicles aren't even allowed in London and if you do go into town you have pay an exorbitent fee?

I'm a wreck. We practiced the cardboard testimonies earlier and in just the hour long practice, it was so powerful, we were all bawling. I don't know how we are going to do this for 4 services.

Also, a lot of people (admittedly including me) have tried to get out of it. I had this overwelming feeling of dread about it, and that my story isn't as important as everyone else's so why do I have to do it, etc. I think the devil is working overtime on us.

My parents are actually coming tomorrow. I've been a member of my church for 12 years and they never came to a single service, except for my wedding. Mom never got over me leaving the Catholic church (even though she never goes to church) and I always suspected my dad to be agnostic. You can't even talk about it with them.

So, this is huge. Part of me is thrilled they are going, and the other part of me is scared to death they will think it's stupid.

They are going to the first service so at least we'll get it over with early.

He is risen, indeed!

Awww, you'll get through it, Flip, and will be happier for going through with it. Sharing our deepest emotions with others, face-to-face, is tough and draining.
Once it's over, you can enjoy a good meal, the company of your family and then a good nap. I think once you've had some time to reflect, you'll be glad you completed the experience. :)

It's a glorious day here. It was rainy and gloomy on Good Friday....very fitting, I'd say. God's goodness surrounds us and we are grateful.

So Flip??? How did it go??? Hoping it went wonderfully!

We had a "contemporary" moment in our Sunrise service today. There's a quartet that formed from some of our choir members and they've recorded albums and have sung at festivals and stuff. They usually do something during the Feast day services. Well. Today they did a very "jazzy" version of "Just a Closer Walk With Thee". It was...inappropriate to say the least. I heard several comments from people after the service...even those that like the more contemporary stuff...where they were saying that it was inappropriate as well. *sigh* (I really like this group. They are VERY well matched and sing beautifully.)

Other than that, we had a VERY wonderful service. Not quite "high" but there was a moment when I thought we'd get the smells along with the bells. (Our bellchoir played at the begining.)

Porter, you know, I don't remember a Good Friday where it hasn't rained at least part of the day. Ours wasn't just rainy...we had a thunderstorm crop up around NOON! Let me tell you...it sorta freaked me out a bit. :)

It was one of the most powerful experiences in my life. I can't even put into words what it was like. I have never seen God's presence anywhere like I saw yesterday. My parents did come. I think God is really starting to work on them, and it started with the service, given their reaction to it.

It happened at the end of the sermon. There was not a dry eye in any of the services.

I can't say any more because of all the contemporary service bashing that goes on here. I'm not going to let ANY of you take what happened yesterday and make it into something less than what it was.

i watched the video you posted and i could not stop crying....how powerfully God is working through even what you're posting about your experience....our Abba is relentless....it's for these very tears in your church, and those reading and seeing your communications that He sent His only begotten Son to die....may they continue flowing...and may you be blessed and emboldened to continue walking in obedience to His promptings.
