I was listening to the Daily Audio Bible on my way in to work today, and the Old Testament reading was from Numbers 7, the dedication of the tabernacle. I had read it before, of course, but hearing the list of gifts over and over again was rather hypnotic (all twelve tribes give the same thing, each on a successive day, so by the end there were 12 bowls and 12 bulls and 12 plates and 12... well, you get the idea).

I found myself starting to say "And a partridge in a pear tree" by the time we got to Gamaliel on the eighth day.

You know... I look at things like this in the Old Testament and it depressess the HELL out of me. What was a poor fella like me supposed to do? I'm so glad that the richest sacrafice of all is mine! It's so wonderful that a poor beggar like me can say that my debit is paid without all the rich treasures that are beyond my reach. PRAISE GOD!

We had a Muslim convert speak at Mt. Calvary last Friday. There was another fella (Jewish) explaining why he and other Jewish people won't spell God out (they use G-d instead). Oi, vay! What a lot of silly rules to be enslaved to! One is constantly enslaved to make sure that this I is dotted and that T is crossed! The Budists and Hindus are no different, all works righteousness. There is truely freedom in Christ!

Praise God in his simple and magnificent mercy!
Praise Christ in his humble and obedient spirit to the Father.
Praise the Lord, my spirit!

Sounds good to me, Synger!

I'm trying to delay my lunch because I'm going out to eat tonight and probably won't eat until 8PM :( bleh. I get so sick when I eat late like that, but I'm going out with a group of ladies and we're meeting during the same time that our husbands are going to their meeting for a lodge that they're members of!

Then tea and a jam tart is just the thing! It will tide you through to a late lunch.

Hubby still has a job, he's hoping to retire this year if the company offers him a package but he's thinking of what he could do to bring in a little more money if he does. I told he we needed to get rid of the house payment some how.

How do, Brin?  Welcome to our cozy kitchen. There's plenty of room and lots of sages here, so relax and stay a while. :)

What?!? Having a rough go of things?

Not to worry. I'll put the kettle on. I am beginning to accept that it's the first step toward the solution to everything! :D

It's been in the 50's here during the day with more sunshine than not and around 40 at night, so I think England is well on its way to Spring, which is a nice welcome home. :)

Yes, Mum's solution to everything was to put the kettle on. Things are actually going rather swimmingly. The client is becomming a bit... impatient. Kinda like where Tom Hanks grabs the worker's shirt and shouts, "SIX WEEKS??? You said that SIX MONTHS ago!!" The Money Pit is one of my favourite movies. But I degress... At this point, the re-work is done and things are beginning to come along nicely. He'll feel better when the floor is down today.

I hope this spring is a particularly beautiful one in Jolly 'Ol for you, Porter. I'd say, "Wish I was there," but things really don't get much better than where I'm at. Though someday I'd like to go back and see England. Maybe I could stop by for a wee cuppa when I do?;)

By the by, Sis, I also hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip. I know it goes without saying, the roads are treacherous, so watch 'em. I pray our gracious Lord protect you whilst your on the road and till you're back home.
