God is drawing all His children together, and prompting us all to pray for each other....we all have our battles and heartaches in one way or another...and He knows sometjing we don't always see....that our unity is a wall of strength against the enemy, where He, in the midst of us, manifests His strength.....amen!

 How fantastic seajoy!

Thank you for your words of encouragement Jim. Thank you everyone for your words of wisdom and insight. Truely refreshing at this time.

I so love the uniting of the body of Christ. In Him and through Him all things are endurable and attainable. Without the love of Christ, found in the most special created way He has made each of us, we would collapse under the burdens of the worlds rediculous manifold witness.

Thank you everyone for sharing. Thank you seajoy for being the catalyst. May the Lord enrich each and every one of us for the sufferings in Him we had, have, and will have for the bounty, beauty, and glory of His name.

Great news!

Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

God Disciplines His Sons

Heb 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Heb 12:4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:
"My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
Heb 12:6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."
Heb 12:7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8 If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
Heb 12:12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 "Make level paths for your feet," so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.

i've compared it to "boot camp"...this training, this discipline....and now i see clarification of what it is......and the gravity of submitting to it.....and how we are to embrace God, our Abba, through even the "boot camp"

amen.

Wow, do these words fit me tonight. They are some of my favorite in the bible. I had not read them for a long time, though. Thanks, Jim.

Times are so tough. I am so worried about certain members of my family- there is a lot of bad 'stuff' going on now. I will spare you all the details. It certainly makes my immediate family challenges seem minor, though. What hurts the most is knowing how all this 'stuff' is making my mom worry. (she is 82) I can pray and I do, for all of them but I worry about their own faith. I just don't know if there is enough there- we are a 'wierd' family, we don't talk about God - probably becuase we have some differing faiths. We just go on pretending everything is fine and don't talk about the serious stuff. We don't fight, which is good, but also we don't 'talk'. Know what I mean? Sometimes I think it would be better to be in a family that had knock-down drag-out fights- because at least then, everything gets out in the open.
Let's not forget others here as well. :groupray: Praying for your family.

Good morning everyone. Sitting here this morning reading all the excellent words of our Lord's and rejoicing in the victories He gives. It's a beautiful morning, dense fog lays low over the bayou and the birds are serenading the morning sky with praises to the King.

Praying everyone will be filled with the love and long suffering of Christ our King throughout this day.
