Sejoy, I know, a bit at least, what you're going through. You have something though, that a great deal of people don't. You have faith. The Lord of all creation is on your side. Even if you lose hearth, home, and all your possesions. You still have Him and He won't leave you alone.

How do I know that?
Because I'm there.

Five years ago I had my own home, a job, and all the benefits thereof. Now I'm living in someone else's motorhome on a friend's property. Yet, the Lord has upheld me.

When loneliness was suffocating me and I asked for someone, anyone, to fill the void... He led me to this forum.

Three years ago I knew little or nothing about the Internet. Only that it was a source of viruses and Trojans which were a danger to the computers owned by my previous employers.

Our gracious Lord will provide for you and your family. Sometimes he sends challenges to us that are really hard to understand. Nevertheless, He still does what is best for us. Even if it sometimes hurts us.

May our gracious and loving Lord bless and keep both you and your family close and safe. May he show you that your faith is strong. May he uphold you in this difficult time.

God bless you, Sis.:crossrc:

Seajoy, God is taking care of you and will provide all you need. Hopefully this trial will be over soon.

It's been absolutely gorgeous here in southern England. The temps have been in the 60's and sunshine is in abundance. I told my hubby that the typical gloomy weather simply wouldn't do for us and it seems someone was listening. :p

We are settling in nicely and I love the fact that I can find most of what we need to keep a well-stocked kitchen in the shops within walking distance of the flat. There's an honest to goodness butcher, veg and flower shop and a pharmacy. Oh, and the doctor's office is within a 1/2 mile, as well. It's right next to a large Home Depot type store (called B&Q), so life is pretty darn good. All we're waiting on is the school to contact us with my daughter's admission papers and if she gets in the closest school, she'll be able to walk there in less than 10 minutes and all the other kids walk, so she won't be alone.

This is all so very different from west Texas, but there's nothing to complain about. Of course, having a sweet and accommodating husband helps as much as anything, but I still refuse to allow him to rush me into driving here. That bit's rather scary still. :sorry:

My husband would be happy with a $5 check. He is getting nothing right now. I've kept it from you all for months. It's very complicated and hard to explain. If I'm ever not on here anymore, it's because our cable has been shut off.

After what we found out today - this is even more prolonged than we thought. Sorry to dump this out on everyone. I just can't take it anymore.

Thanks for the prayers, Kae.

Praying for you and your husband.:prayer::prayer::crossrc::crossrc::prayer::prayer:

I wish everything was that close to me, sounds nice.

It's different and I'm getting past feeling trapped without a car and not knowing where to go. If I need to go to the department stores at the center of town, I hop on the bus. There are 3 different stops within a block, so I can head out in any direction and am not at all limited.

Hubby was rather surprised yesterday when he rang to say we could do some shopping at lunch if I liked and I said there was no need. Of course, I told him that didn't mean I wouldn't have lunch ready for him, but that everything I needed to maintain the house for the next few days, I could find while he was at work.

Once my daughter starts school, I would like to spend the time to find his grandmother's grave at the neighborhood cemetery. He has a general idea where it is, but I've not seen it yet and there are thousands of graves dating back well over 100 years, so it will be rather slow going, but it's definitely going to be interesting.

I'll take some pictures of some of the wonderful old grave markers here. It's sad that so many of them have obviously not been tended to by anyone for decades. It's pretty sad.

Poterross your situation sounds so ideal. It's wonderful when the weather breaks forth with pleasantries instead of the brutal cold of winter.

Stude what a great story. Don't know how many are going through this, I know me and my husband are in a very similar situation, so I would suspect there are many. What seemed unbearable last summer has eased by His merciful hand. That's not to say at times I don't get discouraged because I do.

I don't bring it up because it seems when I talk about the situation others wonder what it is I want. We attended quite a few churches that when I was exclaiming how the Lord was working spectacular wonders, in my eyes they were spectacular, the people shirked away. My husband and I were treated differently after that, and at one time I was asked what it was I wanted.

This response, more common than not, has grieved me horribly. We haven't attended a church since Oct. or Nov. of last year. But fellowship is so important, and this week we decided that we would attend a church close by.

I cry at the thought of not being able to express the wonderous works of my Lord and Savior; it's a favorite thing to do. I just really enjoy telling His stories.

And as I let out a big sigh, I realize that I go into this new church with the hope that other believers will love His work as much as I do, and the sorrow of going and remaining quiet.

I continue to lift you up seajoy, to our God and Father, and when His hand has competed this task in the lives of you and your husband, I would love to hear how He moved in the situation. One things for certain, that I know, not ever does He work in a manner or fashion of how we would think.

That's what makes Him so spectacularly, beautifully, inconceivable. To God be the glory.

I just love reading your posts River

Don't ever feel asshamed for having a fond love for The Lord and His wonders. Many folks look for different kinds of answers to their prayers, and sometimes The Lord does indeed answer as we request, afterall He has promised to give us food clothing and shelter, but riches are something that have little meaning in the long run. I know of folks who claim to be Christian and have been well provided for but have little in the way of love for their Lord and Savior, to my shame, members of my own family who have more or less disowned The Lord.

I know there are hard times ahead for many. My wife is quite sure that her job will soon end as her company is in the red big time. My job is also providing much less then it has been, and I wondered how I would be able to keep up my contributions to our chucrh who like most is struggling with budgets, as is our whole synod. But the one thing I can always do is send up prayers for all. All my chucrh friends, and everyone. God is able to care for us even when we do not see how it will happen, but more importantly is our spiritual welfare. Those who shrink in faith are in danger, as then Satan loves to attack them. So it is important that we all encourage each other and remember all in our prayers.

My past Pastor who I dearly loved told me something that I will always remember. When we encourage each other or admonish others, we should always include scripture. Scripture has the strength of God, it is His Word, and He gives His Word power to strengthen the weak, give comfort and hope, and bring sinners to repentance. There is nothing more powerful in the world than God's Word.

Love One Another

John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Honor One Another

Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Encourage One Another

Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Accept One Another

Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

Submit to One Another

Ephesians 5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Instruct One Another

Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Speak to One Another with Psalms, Hymns, and Spiritual Songs

Ephesians 5:19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,

Instruct One Another

Romans 15:14 I myself am convinced, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, complete in knowledge and competent to instruct one another.

Spur One Another On

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.

Admonish One Another

Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
Bear with One Another in Love

Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.

I continue to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers and kind words. I'm having trouble praying at the moment. I'm sure that sounds really bad. I am listening to hymns a lot though, and that helps me very much.

Nothing new happened today after all. In fact, it seems to be worse.

Don't become discouraged, Your Lord and Savior is still there and protecting you. In bad times remember to count your blessings as hard as that may seem. The Lord showers countless blessing upon us everyday and forgives all our sins. :)

I know how hard it must be, always waiting for that bit of good news you are looking for, but don't give into depression, then Satan wins and you lose. Instead present your prayers to God, prayers of your concerns, and thanks for all His blessings, then pick up your bible and read for a long time. Have you read Esther yet? God's word has the power to heal us, and to give us guidance when it is so badly needed. Remember, we look for the life to come when Our Lord will come back to take us with Him.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”- Romans 15:13

Continuing to pray for you Seajoy. And everyone else who is having difficulties as well.

Times are so tough. I am so worried about certain members of my family- there is a lot of bad 'stuff' going on now. I will spare you all the details. It certainly makes my immediate family challenges seem minor, though. What hurts the most is knowing how all this 'stuff' is making my mom worry. (she is 82) I can pray and I do, for all of them but I worry about their own faith. I just don't know if there is enough there- we are a 'wierd' family, we don't talk about God - probably becuase we have some differing faiths. We just go on pretending everything is fine and don't talk about the serious stuff. We don't fight, which is good, but also we don't 'talk'. Know what I mean? Sometimes I think it would be better to be in a family that had knock-down drag-out fights- because at least then, everything gets out in the open.

That is difficult isn't it! It seems that Satan has all kinds of ways to presenting stumbling blocks or as we might say, road blocks :sigh:
