  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think I'll sit down here for a bit... (8)

Am trying to shake a good old fashioned cold. Gosh, I want it gone NOW.

Coffee is helpful when I have a cold. Also, nothing beats a nice hot bowl of chicken soup. I hope you feel better soon.

There have been some nasty cold bugs going around here. Tiger got one and was sick for two weeks. He had some scary high fevers that landed him in the hospital overnight last week. He finally was able to go back to school yesterday. I hear he'll have a special visitor at Sunday School tomorrow--the Reformer himself! (Ok, it will probably really be Pastor in costume :D)

Hey there, ladies. Just popped in for a quick cuppa. I've some plantation mint this morning.:)

I'm sure glad there's no neighbors close by here. I must have looked really silly chasing the goats out of the garden (for the umpteenth time) this morning. I bought a new broom a few weeks ago, and it sees more action with the goats than the floor (LOL)! I don't even get why they're bothering to break in. The frost has just about killed everything off. I guess it's just the challenge. We'll have BBQ'ed goat yet!

Yuck, just the thoughts of BBQ'd goat is yuck.....

Goat meat is actually pretty good. Slow cooked and it is tender. I have had it once when in Mexico.

agreed!!!!!! (where's that puking smilie)

Yes, well not everyone likes venison either. It's really an empty threat. Though a CO2 pistol might make things easier than chasing them down with the broom (LOL)!;):p Now I know why the old Hebrews used a scape-goat instead of a scape-sheep.:p Goats just seem to have a talent for figuring out the worst ways of getting in trouble. :ebil: They never seem to learn, no matter how severely one punishes them.

George sent me a cheque for the garden this week. So, I went down to Ace hardware and picked up five Dogwoods, four Western Redbuds, along with a Hydrangia, and a parrrtriiiige innn a... Ahem, sorry.:sorry: Also a little shade mix grass seed. I have to borrow back a tiller I sold to a friend last year and till in all the soil ammendment I bought. Then I'll put in the bulbs, Daffy-down-dillys, and Tulie-tips, about two hundred each. In the Spring, when the snow starts to melt, I'll sow the flower seeds I've bought. The side yard should be wonnn-der-ful. I can't wait to see it!:D Actually, I can't wait to get the fence completed so that I can get started. 'Course, first I have to get about thirty years of junk and trash cleaned up. This project started last winter and it's finally looking like I just might get it done. Such a great feeling!:D

George's friend Tom came up to pick up some jack-stands day before yesterday. He got out of his car and just stared around. Tom could'nt get over the change in the place. I hope George likes it.

Did I mention that George got some work? He's in central Nevada helping to build a housing tract in Eureka. George keeps telling me it looks like the set for Mad Max Thunderdome out there (LOL).;) Though it's a bit cold for him, we're both hoping that this job lasts for another month or two. Still, at over five thousand feet elevation, that just miiight be wishful thinking.;)

Oh well, when he does get home we'll have to get the inter-smash-it-all crawler going and finish up with the clean up. We'll need it for the snow too. There's nothing better for clearing snow than a two-and-a-half ton crawler.:)

Well, I've been running on a bit, now haven't I? Sorry about that, just sharing a little good news.

Alligator taste like chicken, what does the goat taste like?

As long as they aren't too very old, venison. The meat from Does and Weathers (castrated males) is much better than that of a mature Buck. A Buck's meat has a strong odour and is somewhat gamey as well... Kinda like the smelly old Billy it came from.;)
