Geezz-----you guys make me feel ancient. My oldest son is going to be 40 on the 22nd. He has a brilliant mind but he has no common sense.

I believe that is pretty normal.

My sister (God love her) has TONS of common sense and yet...

She once asked, seriously, "how long is a 12 inch ruler?"

And the time that she decided she was going to buy a car and, looking through the paper, found one she liked and made the call. She was asking all sorts of very intelligent questions like "when was the oil last changed" and "how new are the tires?"

Then she comes to the end of the conversation and asked "have you had it since you got it?"

In the silence that followed the question, you could just hear the guy's brain going "WHAT???"

Ahh, my sister. A constant form of entertainment.

I got a nephew that's really smart, graduated from MIT, no common sense though, I remember when he was in high school, took the car to town and it quit, called his parents, his father came to check it out and all he did was run out of gas.

Maybe....just maybe...he was so clever that instead of walking to the nearest gas station, he called his parents to find out what was wrong with the car...but then was able to get a ride to the gas station once Dad came out :p

I have a cousin like that. He was a bank president for several years before he retired for health reasons. He's an absolute genious, but he's also the same one who would put both socks on the same foot and then look all over hell for the other sock!

Went to the church yesterday I'm offically a member of. Hadn't been there in like 7 weeks. Almost everyone said something like good to see you or put their hand on my shoulder when they passed by me after they took communion. Here's the church I've decided to go to if I decide to change. http://www.stpaulsdec.com/

We kid people (the ones that can take a joke) at our church, when they haven't been for awhile, like a couple weeks, and invite them to sign the guest book!

Of course our church is so small, we're more like a little family - and everyone knows we are kidding! Like my son, who always had to work on Sunday mornings, so on the rare occasion he could come to church Pastor would invite him to sign the guest book.

Official? Is that what you're waiting for? Officiality?

Just ask the Pastor next time you see him. "Hey am I official yet?"

You're missing the point, Scott. The membership roster is not kept updated and is in no way correct.

My membership was announced to the congregation as is proper procedure, yet we were never added to the roll....it's only been 2 years. How long should it take?
