Whew! Been AWOL a few days and I have lots of catching up to do.

We were in Rochester MN today and there was a nice thunderstorm mid afternoon. Saturday was a lot of rain also. Latebloomer, that was how much it rained here Sat.? I was in Sioux City and there sure was a downpour there for about an hour that evening.

It has been a long few days for me and I think sleep will come easily. Think I will pass on the coffee or tea tonight. May just grab one of the wine coolers in the refrigerator though.

We've been having an overabundance of rain here for 2 months so it stays humid and as the heat rises, it does get uncomfortable. It's been in the mid to high 90's with no less than 50% humidity for the past week with more rain forecast for the rest of the week. Yuk!

QA, try a martini. You'll be out like a light.

Woke up and could not get back to sleep. Boy is my sleep messed up again.

Up above, I typed f r i g and the censors put in the wash my mouth. I went in and corrected that, did not know that was a bad word but it must of thought I was trying to bypass the cenosrs.

The storms last night brought in some cool air! Finally :) But that means I probably should put the solar cover back on the pool to hold in the heat. The water was 88 last time I checked and that wasn't very soothing when it was 90's out. At least not for me :)

The storms got really bad last night and my daughter and dog were afraid so we slept in the basement. We have a really nice day bed with pull out trundle.

i always wonder what words are on the "potty mouth list" lol, now i know to spell out all of refridgerator!!
I use that same word for the short name for refrigerator. But it's a bad-word in Queen's English. *laughs* So, try "fridge" instead. That's what I've learned to do.

Good morning, y'all

I have arrived safely home following my whirlwind tour of the southwestern portion of the continent. :)
Welcome home, Rev! Hope you had a fruitful and restful vacation. Glad you're back safe and sound.

We'll have to disagree on who distributes communion. The bible never says that only a pastor can do it. Again, it's the WORDS alone. Nothing the pastor does makes that wine or bread anything different.

It's the same thing with baptism. If I wanted to baptize my own baby after birth, using the water and the word, it's just as much a baptism as if the pastor did it.

I need to chime in here to correct an error (y'all know how I am)...

As for communion, the Lutheran Confessions make it very clear that no one is to administer the sacraments unless he be regularly called, that being the one who is called and ordained by God through the Church. This is based on the Biblical teaching of the Office of the Keys.
The exception being baptism in the case of an emergency when any baptized Christian can baptize.

Ok... back to your regularly scheduled "kitchen talk." :)
