No wonder I'm unsure of what God wants me in this area. The last thing I want to do is satisfy my own desire and justify as His will.

I guess He's going to need to hit me with the big stick again to get my attention. You must be just as hard of hearing as I am.

Seriously, there is a Baptist group that meets at the Schlafly Bottle Works (that would be Beer) in Maplewood. I heard the SBC is trying to get them ousted from the Convention.

My Guy always says that he needs the "Big Giant HAND" to come down and whack him for him to get things.

When I was in the hospital after my surgery, we were talking with Pastor about the "Big Giant HAND" and I looked over at Mike (my guy) and said "Could you please QUIT DUCKING!"



Pastor got a good chuckle out of that one.

Given the storms we've been having lately, I think He might be changing His method to lightening bolts! I prefer the stick.

Are we all such insolent creatures that God has to resort to such physical means to get our attention? All this talk about big sticks, hands, and lightning bolts...

I do my best to be much more obedient now, but sometimes the path He would have me on is not so apparent and the thought of screwing up brings the memory of the pain of being hammered to the surface.

The thing we need to be mindful of, though, is not to be so fearful of the hammer blow that we're afraid to venture down the path that the Lord has laid before us. That can be very challenging.
