Hmm...I'm just going to have my kids memorize the Large Catechism.

At our church, the memorize the Small Catechism. They also select their confirmation verse from the ones that Pastor provides. They then write an essay about what their verse means to them and why they chose it. This is also read in church on Confirmation Sunday.

Oh it gets better. I find it funny that the guy gets super mad when I didn't say ANYTHING. I just quoted the Bible (talk about conviction!).

Usually I just hide these types of posts from my FB friends, but I am seeing stuff like this almost daily now and I figured it was high time to stand up for someone (in this case, Kirk Cameron).

BOY did I hit a nerve. I got unfriended by the OP lol. Well her dad is one of the posters and said I offended her and I said that if you don't want people to comment with their opinions, then you should exclude them from viewing it...then said if she wanted to unfriend me to do so because I wasn't going anywhere.

These people have made up their minds and pointing out the truth only confuses them. The Apostle Paul says to have nothing to do with them. Thus, the girl's unfriending you was a good thing.

Today is a sad day here in Fawn Lodge. Penny the goat died. She had been battling Mastitis for most of her life and the last few years it got really bad. The infection spread throughout her body this past week and she was so bad this morning I put her down, poor thing. One of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I'm really going to miss her. She was a good girl (and that's saying something for a goat!).

R.I.P. Penny.

Stude, I got such a chuckle out of your response! You've been Lutheran way too long -- it's starting to affect your vocabulary.

"This is most certainly true" gives you away of course, but so does "so to do." I'm just surprised you didn't say, "It is meet and right so to do."

Joy, yeah... my vocabulary has given me away on more than one forum.

The little tinkle-meister has decided he really likes it in the house. I've told him, 'tough cookies, you're a goat!' Oi! Thankfully, he's spending some more time with his sisters. Seems like he likes to annoy them through the fence. If there was no fence they'd smash him to a pulp. Hmmm... sounds like a typical little brother.

Well, our new pastor has arrived and gave his first sermon this Sunday. It was pretty good. I was wondering where he was going with it all at first. Kind of sounded like a Schuler-istic sermon. But he brought it around at the end and tied things up nicely. We'll have to see where he goes from here.

Had a talk with Paula. We have been getting to services later and later and I'm tired of it. She promised to do better in the future. We shall see...

Things are going better with the horses. Condessa and I took a long walk around the neighborhood. Oak Run is a beautiful place. Riverdance appears to need the services of an equine Chiropractor. She carries her head to the left and tail to the right. Not good. All the same, we're coming along with things. I have to order hay for my girls. Hay's an expensive proposition this time of year.

You know, I look at the price of Hay, Gas, and everything else and it really gets me down. I look at the mess our country is in and it scares me. Then I remember that 'all these things must come to pass' and that the Lord is in control of it all. Thus I understand what Scripture means by, "that peace which passes all understanding." Other people look at how I just shrug all these depressing things off and don't understand.


Aibrean, I agree entirely with Filo on your friend's Facebook post. I would even go so far as to say, 'this is most certainly true!'

So I'm having surgery next month and during the pre-admissions review they asked if I would like a chaplain to pray with me...

I go "Yes....Lutheran Please." then I thought for a bit. "LCMS only." I told her I didn't want a woman pastor *shudder*. I could probably have asked my pastor but I didn't have too much notice.
