Well, I went walkabout again today to get pictures of those wild flowers on the other side of the ridge. It's so funny, the girls see me with a hat and the cloak on and they get really excited! "Oh boy, oh boy, we're going walkie!" They're literally bouncing off the walls in excitement! I also carryed a small umbrella today. Boy am I glad I did. IT POURED about an hour before we got home and rained the rest of the way. The poor dogs were soaked and shivering. So, I lit a fire in the stove and they curled up very happily on the hearthrug. Spoiled... that's what they are. Spoiled!

Well, I got over the hill, pulled out the camera for the photos and, "Beep, Beep, Beep!" it shut down. Dead batteries. No problem, I have another set in the bag. No go, they were bad too. I think new batteries are in order. Gosh, aren't rechargable batteries supposed to last forever? I mean, they cost enough!

Well, they're on charge and I'll just have to wait on them. Hopefully the flowers will wait too.

Speaking of which, I found a different variety that I haven't seen before. These are usually purple and the ones I found on the other side are bright yellow with purple stripes on the bottom side of the petals. It's funny though, they only grow on the north side of the ridge. The book says the yellow ones are 'Golden Brodelia' and the purple ones are 'Elegant Brodelia.' If the batteries cooperate, I'll get pics... maybe. After two long hikes like that, I'm bushed and my legs are really, really sore. LOL, just not a kid anymore!

Nobody around tonight. Been looking around the kitchen all day. Ah well.

It's been raining cats and dogs all day here in beautiful downtown Fawn Lodge. No gas to get to Church. This four and a quarter a gallon is killing me. Can't afford to go anywhere.

Hopefully services were good wherever you all are. May our gracious Lord bless you all with restful sleep and a great day tomorrow. Good night.

Hi Lambie - it's sure nice to see you around here. I was missing you. I remember the good old days when we saw each other here every day.

Getting a haircut today. Starting Saturday - my summer is so full. Non-stop graduations, anniversaries, weddings, people coming to visit.....not to mention a grand baby on the way. :)

Gas is 3.63 here. Not sure how much rechargeable batteries are, our 4 wheelers won't start so can't drive in the woods. The sun is finally shining and its supposed to be in the 80's by this weekend, we had a cold spell come in over the weekend, was kind of chilly. Erwin the one that started this forum and sold it decided to start another christian forum and hopes to have it like CF used to be.

I use rechargeable batteries for my old mp3 player. I only get about half the juice out of them than from non-rechargeable ones, but since I use it a lot, they still pay off in the end. I think if you recharge them and let them sit very long, they tend to go dead.

What is “Foru.Ms”? I was here way back in 2002 then took a big long break and recently came back so apparently I missed all kinds of interesting-ness?

It was an attempt by the previous owner of the site to make it more secular rather than Christian. There was an amazing revolt which led to the formation of another forum (which has since gone offline). When the support waned considerably, Erwin sold the site and it was basically restored to its present state.

Oh goodness, if the site I found through an old interview with him is his current forum, I really do not like the way it's set up.

But yeah, you can't just change everything like that, a forum is made up of people, You can't just make huge sweeping changes and expect everyone to go right along with it and be happy.
