Gosh... Its been a while since I have seen you! I should get out more often!

Its been beautiful here today! I am so ready for nice weather to be constant!

 It put a smile on my face to see you today. :D

Aww, that's sweet!

I think this past week I've posted more on here than in the past 3 months!

And yeah, I'm like you in that I don't get out much either!! I don't visit too many of the sub-forums because of time restraints. This week was an exception though. I went to the For New Christians and Christian Advice!

Excellent! Well my hope is that people will find there way back to CF. We used to have a draw for people to come here. I think FB has hurt us kinda but I know its what God wishes it to be. :)

Keep up the posting and more of our old friends may come back!!!

Yep, I've been on FB more than any other place on the web. But, I think it's lost its appeal to me. I still go there to check up on family and some close friends, but for the most part, it's not where I spend my time. With the weather turning nice and summer vacation almost here...ha, I won't be anywhere but outside! I hope!

Has your dog had them before? Is he/she okay?

Yes...he has had them before, but it has been over a year since his last one. I was hoping he wouldn't have any more.

He is fine. His seizures are fairly mild, but still distressing. I am just so sad for him when it happens. And when it is over, he is still obviously distressed for about 30 minutes or so. I used to have some doggy Valium to give him for afterward, I don't have any on hand anymore, so my husband just held him and pet him until he was back to his chipper self.

Lambie - it's always good to see you here. I have really missed you. I go to FB some, but don't post there nearly as much as I used to. I don't need the relatives knowing everything I'm up to.

I used to enjoy CF a lot. I'm hoping that will happen again. Right now I'm going through some depression, and coming here has sure not helped. I could certainly stop coming altogether, I suppose - but, I'm disabled and don't get out enough, so this place has become a habit of sorts.

Oops - I sidetracked my own thread. sorry.....

I think for most people, FB fascination only lasts a few months. I check mine just a few times a week.

Today I discovered that my husband and I are 9th cousins. It probably weirds him out a little more than me because now he's really related to his mother-in-law and vice-versa :)

Wow I wish I could trace my family that far back. I don't even know all of my second cousins. In fact before marrying my wife I asked many questions about all of the last names in her family back ground to make sure none of them where the same as mine.

It wouldn't weird me out if my wife was my 9th cousin. Ultimatly if you go far enough back everyone is a distant cousin.

Well his mom gave me a bunch of names and dates that I plugged in. When I worked on my grandfather's family I stopped for a while and went back to it and noticed a common name and discovered they were from the same area and knew I'd find a connection somewhere.

One of my mom's cousin's was able to trace her mother's family line back to the mayflower. Other then that I don't know anything about my family further back then my grandparents.

Yes, that's the ticket Byrne! Calomine lotion! Ah, my memory... um... LOL, thanks for the help!

As to cousins, I'd be more at ease in that respect marrying someone with the same last name as not. You see, there are more Smiths not related to me than are, even with my sixty-four cousins. Coincedentally, four of my cousins married a person with the same last name who weren't related previously.

You know, speaking of the Mayflower, my wife's family traces to the Bradford family. Dame Southworth was Gov. Bradford's second wife (though his first choice). There's quite a story attached to all of that.

I love Beagles' bark. That bow-woo... is just... funny, gotta love it! Makes me laugh every time. However, as pets, they're not my favourites. I'm just not crazy about the hunting-type of dog. Soft and fluffy is my favourite type.

I'm a Smith :)

So, likely we're not related at all, LOL! Unless of course, your great-grandparents were named Herbert and Clara nee'-Stevens of Chicago. Then I'd be curious as to whom your parents would be as they'd be one of my twelve aunts and uncles. Yeah, big family.

In the meantime from one Smith to another... my condolences, LOL!

Luther, did you know that you are eligable for the Marblehead Club? It's an organization who's membership is based on the decendents of the original Mayflower's passengers. I don't know weather my Wife's family qualifies, as Dame Southworth came over with her sons on the Seventh (and last) voyage of the Mayflower. As such, the Southworth boys were step-sons of William Bradford. I find it interesting that history mentions the first wife, and her questionable death, yet not the second.
