Now that you are saved, you should have the holy spirit dwelling you, who will convict you of sins, cause you desire to be righteous, and now you mainly need to read the new testament and understand that Jesus paid the price for you with his blood. If this is true, then you belong to him now. Thus you have lost your life for him, that you may gain it. No one can say how you, specifically, should live for God in your current situation, but to be saved you must believe in Jesus, strive to keep the commandments, repent whenever you sin, aside from this there is great reward in soul winning, and you should testify to others that they need Jesus to be saved.

We are all collectively damned by God, unless we are saved. We have inherited sin from our ancestors, we are naturally inclined to walk after the flesh, we easily fall into sin given the right circumstances, the influences around us are all sinful, and one day satanists will rule the world and force people to take the mark of the beast, for which we must be willing to resist.

When you're born again you can feel it. There is a supernatural peace of God that passes all understanding. I didn't get it reading the bible as a child, then a lot of tragic events happened and I thought God hated me, but when I humbled myself, prayed the sinner's prayer, and read the Bible as an adult all that changed and I understood.

We just got a call from our son and daughter-in-law! I'm going to be a grandma!!!!!! WOOHOO! We are so excited that we can hardly stand it! Please join me in praising God for this wonderful blessing in our family. :)
That's terrific news!

(Reminds me of a guy I graduated HS with who has a six or seven year old grandson while I'm still changing diapers on my 8 month old baby. ^_^ And seajoy, you're only one year older than I am!)

pardon my extreme apparent ignorance, but what exactly is a "CLC" church?

Completely Lost Congregation?;)

Yeah I know what you mean about decision theology. Trouble is, these people are so hung up on the law that they forget they're still sinners and Christ is still their saviour, one day, one hour at a time. I've actually heard some of these people claim they no longer sin.:doh: My Aunt says she just makes 'little mistakes' from time to time. This, from a confirmed lush.:sigh: Gotta love that Church of Religious Science... They take the decision thing to a whole new low.

I've never seen one...I actually don't think they even have a congregation in Ohio.

I've never seen one either FYI. I just know of their existence.

Come to think of it though, I dont' think I've ever noticed an ELS, AALC or AFLC church either. I'm just aware of their existence.

I have however seen a LCMC church. . . in fact I was married in one.

The CLC church in Batavia, IN is called Ascension.

There is an AALC church in extreme NE PA that I would love to visit sometime. It's a little white church on a hill in Rowland, PA.

Mapquest and the map in my office that I use to check to see if job locations are in our range says Batavia, IN doesn't exist.

There is a Batavia IL however, are you thinking of that? About 2 and a half hours away from here.

I believe "net'iquette" allows for typos.

If you ever do meet Norm, say "howdy." Then prepare for an evening of story telling that will keep you laughing until your sides hurt. ^_^

I just discovered this is what the SDA teaches (from looking in the SDA forum)

We teach that after death, the only place a person has any 'existence', is in the memory of God. From the "book of remembrance", God will re-create people. Every facet of a person's character is perfectly preserved in the memory of God, in readiness for the day of the resurrection.

Glad my husband is Lutheran now. This is why we had a big disagreement when we were engaged. I didn't want my kids raised in the SDA church (of course that was before I was Lutheran too). I knew that they had weird theology but not THAT weird.
