I belive they mean Chruch of the Lutheran Confession.

Basically my understanding is that they split from the WELS and ELS because they did not terminate fellowship with the LCMS quickly enough for praying with the old ALC.

Yup, that be them.

I'm not sure if there's any in this area, but I know there were a few in Lansing, MI where I originated from.

Palm Sunday and an OUTSTANDING service! The Sunday School kids sang and the Choir actually backed them up! I was wondering why the kids sounded so good till it occured to me that someone was singing behind me. DUH! Admittedly, I can be a bit dense sometimes.

Best part was that I could sing all the hymns today! We're still getting used to the WELS hymnodies.

Pastor's message was really good too! He spoke on the fact that the Donkey did it. That is to say, the Jewish leaders weren't expecting or wanting a King who was lowly and humble. ie: Jesus Ben Joseph. They wanted the proud conquering king, Jesus Ben David.

Just a great service all round.

We had the handbell choir for the gradual and the offertory which was nice. Looks like my mom is coming with us to our Easter service again :) She needs to be back at her church by 11 and our service starts at 7am so works out great.

we had an excellent Palm Sunday service as well - we had a palm branch processional, and the children sang as we came in....it was close to completely full, which was wonderful to see....pastor did a fantastic sermon, and everybody is looking forward to Easter service and brunch.....

also listened to an unbelievable sermon on line.... :)

i'm beginning to wonder if there's something wrong with me - it's 63* outside, partially sunny, warm by colorado spring's standards, and i'm absolutely freezing - and on a 63* day, i'm actually gonna have to put my fuzzy socks on.....

we had a nice palm sunday worship as well.

went to a palm sunday concert out at Martin Luther College and while it was really beautiful, it seemed a bit more lenten-y than palm sunday-ish. that was kind of a disappointment. the only palm sunday song they sung was Ride On Ride in Majesty, but even that was an alternative arrangement, which I love but is also very solemn.

We are heading to Wisconsin on Good Friday. I'm going to make my first roast leg of lamb on Sunday. Hope it turns out because it's sure expensive.

My husband gave me his cold - I don't feel too well.

I couldn't resist shopping for my future grandchild. A sleeper and a stuffed baseball rattle. Girl or boy - this baby will have to love baseball. Son and daughter-in-law are nuts over it.

Lamb is actually fairly easy to roast, Ang. Use plenty of fresh rosemary and garlic cloves pushed into small cuts and let it roast long enough to cook through. It should taste wonderful, but mint jelly makes it that much better.

I used to be worried about cooking it as well, but it is so common here and something we have often enough, that I now appreciate how truly easy it is to prepare. It just takes a while to cook, but the hard work is done by the oven. :)

The recipe I found has a plum glaze. There is garlic too. Yummy.

Got a new book yesterday. The Private Stable by James A. Garland. Wonderful book, fell asleep reading it last night. I've been wanting a copy for thirty years, ever since Tom Ryder recomended the book to me. It's interesting how the motor-age reduced the Carriage House staff of six to a single chauffeur.

We will be having Easter lunch at my parents. So far I know it will consist of a pot roast (because my mom is coming to our 7am service and then going to her 11am service), mashed potatoes, asparagus (who knew they would be harvest-able already), and carrots.

Easter Sunday, immediately after service, we will be having our annual Easter brunch - too many good things to list, and for some unfortunate people, i will be making an egg casserole......i hope i don't kill anybody......

then we'll be going to my bestie's house for Easter Dinner - i'm not completely sure, but i think we'll be having brown sugar baked ham, scalloped potatoes, and i have no idea what else.....

i'm VERY VERY much looking forward to celebrating and worshipping our Risen Savior, and fellowshipping with wonderful, beautiful Christian people......

if only the missing part of our equation was here to celebrate with us.....then it would be perfect......

for now - i'm anticipating our Good Friday service tonight (very late service - 8:00) - the Tenebrae service is so moving......

Let me how the lamb turns out with the plum glaze Ang. I slow cook mine and serve it with mint jelly. I like to make sure I have extra to put away for sandwiches and such. It is expensive and hard to get around here. I always know I can get it at Easter.

Well, my company are all here. They went to the Good Friday Tenebra service. I stayed home as I am still not totally over my cold. I still get to coughing pretty hard and filled up head.
