White chat limestone gravel here to that covers all our vehicles when we go to town. There is even chat dust in the gas tank chamber where the cap is, around the insides of the door jams and on the motor. UGH! We have some antique cars that we haven't been able to drive for years because of the dust.

rad - we have this white stuff that's everywhere around here - it's like salt, i'm not really sure what it is but it's yucky....and all around is this thick dobie mud....anybody that lives on a gravel road or has just dirt and gravel, they all have boot scrapers by every door, because if the dirt gets wet, it turns to that thick, sticky, "suck your shoes right off your feet" dobie mud, and then you walk on the gravel, you end up 5 inches taller than when you walked outside, LOL.....

Let's see, rain, freezing rain, snow, wind plummeting temps are all on the agenda for us this weekend. We are sitting at 37 right now and it is to be a high of 3 with strong winds on Sunday. Good thing all I am planning on doing is study for two finals on Tuesday and worship on Sunday. Going to be a good weekend to stay inside.

Yeah, I just cancelled my trip to the installation service at Evansdale, IA. Nuts, I had been working with that congregation almost a year in helping them move from ELCA to us, even preaching there a couple times this summer. Oh well, I don’t feel like driving in the blizzard and driving home when the wind chill will be -30 degrees.

Yep turns the roads into a quagmire. During the rainy season I have to keep the shovel handy to muck out the garage. If there is any left over when it dries up I get the leaf blower out and blow out the garage with clouds of dust.

Luckily they are going to pave the road that intersects with my road about 100 yrds away and both ways lead out to a paved HWY. That should start early Spring. They are out grading and widening the road right now. I called the HWY Dept a couple of days ago and they say that I have to get signatures on a petition to get my road done which is a mile and a quarter long. I just wonder how many people that live on newly paved roads in the county have had to sign petitions to get their road paved in the past couple of years. I think politics plays a part in the decision.

i do NOT understand our weather - i truly don't....it is currently FORTY FIVE DEGREES right now (11:37am), and honestly warm enough to be without a sweater outside....it is 2 weeks (ish) away from Christmas and we still have NO snow on the ground (i'm not complaining, mind you, it's just WEIRD)!!! so - i think we're going to take advantage of this GORGEOUS day, and go see "polar express" for free in paonia with my "bestie" and the kids! awesome drive, awesome movie, awesome company, and it's only the price of a little bit of gas....

and then waiting (semi) patiently for this evening.... :)

sigh....i had planned on going to church....i WANTED to go to church.....i was looking FORWARD to going to church....BUT - i totally overslept and missed service altogether. i HATE it when i do that.....however! i am now fever free!! maybe i just needed a good long block of sleep to get over it - i am now feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed to go to the ballet this afternoon with my daughter, for Advent service on wednesday, and for the rest of the week!! YAY!! praise God!!

hope all y'all are having a fantastic Sunday - and if you are where all the snow is falling, stay SAFE and stay WARM!!! not to rub it in, but i'll be thinking of you during our 50 degree, sunshiny day, LOL....
